BEYOND

FB4 is an all-new hardware platform from Pangolin, that is setup to take our industry to the next level. The version you see here, is an OEM hardware device that is intended to be built directly inside of the laser projector. However, it can also be built into a rack or standalone enclose. It is available in four different versions, called FB4 Standard, FB4 ILDA, FB4 DMX or FB4 MAX.FB4 can be controlled via Ethernet, so that you can run your entire laser show in a network configuration. FB4 also features standalone memory, so that you can create content in the software, save it to the SD card, and then trigger your shows remotely without the need

for a PC. In addition, the optional DMX and ILDA daughter boards allow for DMX or ILDA control, if desired.The hardware also includes a full-color OLED display with an encoder wheel, so that you can set various control parameters directly on the projector itself. FB4 is compatible with our popular QuickShow and BEYOND software programs, and can also be triggered via DMX, ArtNet or OSC. For portability, convenience and integration, Pangolin offers a variety of network solutions for the legacy QM2000 hardware.The .NET Laptop Box is a sturdy laptop-friendly box that includes the power supply and the Network Adaptor Board. This box can be connected to your local network or directly to your computer. The .NET Laptop Box is great if you want to expand the number of projectors controlled, or create large-scale shows using numerous laser projectors. The 19-inch Rack Mount is a 19-inch rack mount enclosure which includes a power supply, Network

Adaptor Board and associated wiring. This is a very good hardware configuration for fixed installations such as amusement parks and cruise ships where rack-mounted equipment is commonplace.The .NET OEM Adaptor Board is our integrated network solution for the QM2000 hardware. The Discoscan 2.0 Lens is an “electronic mirror ball” for your laser projector - allowing a single laser to send effects across a much wider area. In a disco or nightclub, you often want beams to fill the entire space, but it can sometimes be difficult, especially if you only have a few lasers to work with.The solution is the Discoscan 2.0 Lens. The DiscoScan 2.0 is a super-wide-angle lens designed specifically for laser projectors. Using the DiscoScan 2.0, you can send laser beams anywhere in a 360° hemisphere.For example, put a Discoscan-equipped projector near the center of your lighting rig, pointed straight down at the dance floor and beams will hit all four walls, as well as every corner of the floor.

* You can also do graphics, text and logos with the Discoscan, as shown in the photo. Imagine the name of your client or corporate sponsor, projected on the floor along with an array of beams! Keep in mind though, that the lens will increase the divergence of the beam, which may affect the appearance of the projection.

TC2000 SMPTE TIMECODE READER AND WRITER

Some installations require synchronization with other media, like audio, video, pyrotechnics, etc...The standard method to synchronize all this media together, is by using SMPTE timecode. The timecode is recorded on one audio track by a SMPTE writer, and later at playback time, this audio track is read and decoded by a SMPTE timecode reader. The TC2000 can work either as a SMPTE writer or a SMPTE reader.In writing mode, the TC2000 outputs a SMPTE-encoded audio signal, which can be used directly, or it can be recorded to diverse media, for later use.

In reading mode, the TC2000 decodes SMPTE timecode from audio signal and passes it to LD2000 or BEYOND. Playback of your laser show is then locked to the incoming SMPTE timecode, which results in a perfectly synchronized multimedia show. The software to control the TC2000 is built right into Pangolin’s LD2000 and BEYOND software. If you enable SMPTE, the laser show will follow the timecode exactly.In addition, our new TC2000 is completely powered over USB, so it eliminates the need for an external power supply or other external support devices.

The Akai APC40, APC40 MKII, and APCMini are well known MIDI consoles which are now distributed by Pangolin. These are great for “live” laser shows, and for clients who prefer to operate their shows using a console, rather than a standard PC. Pangolin has also created custom MIDI profiles for these consoles which work with our BEYOND laser control software. Our profiles map out the device with the most popular laser effects and offer an easy and convenient way of controlling your laser projectors and shows.

In addition, we have created custom skins that you can easily place on top of your MIDI devices. These skins helps to protect the console, and also show you exactly what each slider, button and knob on the device does.

LASORB’s primary means of protection is a slew-rate detector that monitors the voltage across the pins of

the laser diode. Pangolin’s patented Safety Scan Lenses were designed to help make your shows safer, while at the same time allowing your shows to maintain a high level of visual impact.The Safety Scan Lens is a half lens, which will increase the divergence of the laser beam as it is projected downward, into audience areas. Due to the fact that it is a half lens, laser beams are not affected when they are projected overhead. Thus, the end result is that you are able to create a stunning laser light show, and keep the beams which project on the audience at an enjoyable and safe level.Pangolin currently produces six different lenses, and each lens increases the divergence of the beam by a different amount.

Our scanners utilize an all-new patented design, which allows them to outperform other conventional optical scanners on the market. VRAD stands for Versatile Rotary Actuator, and is the acronym used to describe our new line or rotary actuator devices. VRAD actuators have a “passing shaft” which allows multiple things to be simultaneously controlled, or alternatively for the use of an encoder or position sensor to be integrated. VRAD actuators also give you access to two drive coils, so you can drive them in a variety of ways. And in addition, VRAD actuators offer a linear angle-versus-current profile, which simplifies the control and the high coil resistance eases drive requirements.Currently there are two VRAD models - the 1510 and 506. The 1510 model is 1.5 inches by 1.0 inches, and

having a 1.5 inch depth. The 0506 is 0.5 inch round, and having a 0.6 inch depth. Both work in a similar fashion, and have similar attributes.We can easily and practically instantly (on an order-by-order basis) customize the magnetic return spring aspect for the 1510, so this means we can customize the angle-versus-current profile to suit your needs.The VRAD actuators can be used for a variety of jobs including optical-related tasks such as shutters, choppers, filter positioners, etc.
