Pancyprian Association of Trauma and Emergency Sugery History of our society: Founding year: 2013 as MACHAONAS Pancypria Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery. Founding members: Michalis Kakas, Chryssanthos Georgiou, Christos Thrasivoulou, Despo Nikolaou, Antreas Christodoulou, Elias Xinis, Anna Pharmaka, Athanasia Modestou, Giorgos Papageorgiou, Riana Konstantinou, Theotokis Nikolaou Aims of the society: (1) To organize any educational and training events to promote Trauma. (2) To promote and foster and participate in research and study programs which are deemed useful for the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Society. (3) To publish any printed material or announcement in printed or electronic form both in Cyprus and abroad. (4) To promote Trauma at all levels. (5) To support continual education of all doctors and nurses dealing with Trauma in Cyprus. (6) Implementation of policy regarding Trauma. (7) Maintains relationship of all representatives of other national and international surgical societies. (8) to promote formation and training regarding Trauma, as well as continuing medical education of general and trauma surgeons in Cyprus (9) establishes and is committed to quality control in surgery and surgical education (10) maintains relations to representatives of other national and international surgical societies Institutional member of the European Society for Trauma & Emergency Surgery Development throughout the years: As a newly established society we have achieved to on taking under our umbrella the ATLS program. It is now the 21 st member of the European ATLS. Our main goal is to establish a Level 1 Trauma centre in Cyprus and to reorganise the trauma system in Cyprus. Members: Full members, associate members, honorary members, board. Certification as surgeons is the only essential prerequisite for full membership. Current membership: 40. Milestone of the society: ATLS to Cyprus Hospitals Yearly reiterating activities: Annual National Trauma Congress.
