In 1918, Konosuke Matsushita founded Matsushita Electric Houseware Manufacturing Works. The improved attachment plug and two-way socket he developed with strenuous efforts were highly praised and formed the foundation for establishing Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. The company expanded and developed into a lamp, iron, and radio enterprise. For the first time in Japan, in 1933 he introduced a management system in each product division that provided for independent management responsibility from development to production, sales and settlement of accounts. In 1952, he founded Matsushita Electronics Corp. and raised the quality standard for electrical products throughout the world. One after the other, he flooded the world with new household electrical products and started an "electrification boom."

We start the R&D process by first examining how our customers use lighting in their daily lives. This information helps us improve product performance and enhance functionality. And of course, both positive and negative feedback from customers are always fed back into development to enhance existing and new models.

Sometimes, such as during a lightning storm, surges can cause irreparable damage to lighting fixtures. Panasonic's LED lighting adheres to IEC standards for surge resistance, making our fixtures ideal for areas where power supply is unstable or surges occur frequently.

Panasonic adheres to the Japan Luminaires Association efficacy reporting standard to give you a clear understanding of our fixture performance, taking into account not only LED module efficacy but also fixture specifications.

One of the major benefits in choosing Panasonic LED lighting is the long life of our LED modules. Years of experience in quality assurance and product testing have resulted in a long-life light source that lasts up to 40,000 hours, a point at which the source maintains 70% of its original brightness.

Panasonic greatly emphasizes internal quality controls and adheres to Japan’s Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law to minimize noise interference. This means that our products are less susceptible to problems such as light flickering.

Earthquakes are dangerous for many reasons, but Panasonic can provide a certain sense of comfort at least in terms of lighting fixtures. Our fixtures undergo two rigorous earthquake-resistance evaluations to minimize fixture structural damage and protect against fixtures falling or separating from their mounts.

A critical feature in Panasonic LED lighting is our heat dissipating design. This design draws heat away from the LED module towards the base of the fixture, where the heat then dissipates out from the body. By optimizing this process, the LED module remains cool, resulting in minimal wear on the light source itself and more efficient lighting performance.

Light from Panasonic LED lighting is emitted at wavelengths that attract far fewer insects than conventional fluorescent light. This is especially important in not only minimizing the number of unsightly insects that collect inside a fixture cover, but also reducing the necessity of frequent cleaning.
