A
Pan-African University is a private institution of higher
learning located in Lagos, Nigeria. You will find below
information on some aspects of the University's governance,
its teaching activities and its campuses.
The Governing Council is the supreme body of the University
and it appoints the University's Principal Officers, Deans and
Professors. Decisions of special importance for the long-term
future of the University have to be approved by the Governing
Council. A list of the members of the Governing Council can be
found at the bottom of this page. The objective of education in our university is the well-
rounded formation of the human person. This is why every
programme includes several courses in the humanities. We

This campus which has an area of 10 hectares is located at Km
22, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ajah, Lagos. In this beautiful and
serene campus you will find the Lagos Business School
housed in a two storey (three-floor), three-building complex.
The first part of this 10,000 square metres complex is the Pan-African University currently operates two campuses – one
conference centre made up of the auditorium and conference in Victoria Island (located at 2, Ahmed Onibudo St) and
areas. The second part is the executive education block while another at Ajah (located at Km 22, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ajah)

This campus is housed in a four storey (five-floor building) at

Update on the New Campus.
In April 2012, the Governing Council approved a five year
(2012 – 2016) strategic plan for the University. As previously announced, the university is developing a new
campus at Ibeju-lekki, Lagos State. This 100 Ha campus will be
the main campus of the University. In the first stage of
development, academic activity will begin with a School of
Media and Communication and a School of Management.
A 12,500 sq m block which will be the first to be constructed
has been designed as an academic complex. Construction
work began in February, 2012 and is expected to be
concluded in readiness for the beginning of academic work
on the new campus by September 2014.

An international conference organised by the School of Media
and Communication, Pan-African University held from August
23-25, 2012. The conference had the theme: “Globalising the
Local, Localising the Global: Globalisation, the Media and
Popular Culture in Africa”. Prof. Emevwo Biakolo and Dr. James
Tsaaior were co-conveners of the conference which held at the
University's Victoria Island Campus.
An International CSR Conference organised by the Etisalat
CSR Centre, Lagos Business School, held at the Honeywell
Group Auditorium of the School on February 21- 22, 2012. The
theme for the conference was “CSR Contributions towards
Sus ta inab le Deve lopment and Organ i sa t iona l
Competitiveness in Nigeria”. Conference speakers were drawn
from Nigeria, the UK and South Africa.
The colloquium on “Rhetoric and Political Leadership”
organised by the African Association for Rhetoric (AAR) in
collaboration with the School of Media and Communication,
Pan-African University, held from the 26th – 27th of July, 2012.
The event attracted scholars from an array of academic
institutions across Africa.
Over 80 deans and directors of business schools from around
Africa met at Lagos Business School on Tuesday May 15, 2012
for the annual symposium of the Association of African
Business Schools (AABS). The symposium aims to enable
business education providers develop a deeper
understanding of the issues and challenges facing
management education in Africa. It explored the theme "Best
Next Practice in Management Development".
The second edition of a conference for the use of online
resources by small and medium scale enterprises - the SME
Toolkit Conference - held on the 16th of November, 2011. The
purpose of the conference was to bring together Trainers,
Users, Experts, Contents and Service providers to share ideas
on how the toolkit can impact even more on the SME sector in
Nigeria. The event had over 250 people in attendance from 10
different countries. The theme of the conference was
'Expanding REACH through Web and Mobile Tools'.
Lagos Business School, in conjunction with Quantum Learning
Solutions, organised a two-day educational transformation
conference for West Africa on July 18 and 19 in Lagos.
The conference, with the theme “Back to the Future:
Reinventing Africa's Education to Meet the Challenges of
Modern Age”, was organised around panel discussions from
world-leading educational experts.

The School of Media and Communication (SMC) during the
course of this session established collaborations with two television houses (Nigerian Television Authority and Channels
Television) which will enable students of the SMC obtain
hands-on instructions and experience in the presentation, The Pan-African University hosted an exhibition of production and management of television programmes as paintings and conceptual works by promising young artist well as other aspects of the television medium. Muyiwa Akinwolere. Tagged 'Hourglass: Once Upon a Time',
the exhibition was held from the 4th – 6th of November at the
University's Victoria Island Campus.
The collection of works available in the Virtual Museum of
Modern Nigerian Art (VMMNA), an online, free, searchable
database of Nigerian Arts from the beginning of the twentieth
century, has continued to grow. Currently, it has 850 works of

The Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan-African
University was the Capacity Building Provider. The training

Market Access Nigeria is a platform that brings together Small
and Growing Businesses (SGBs) and large companies. The
central goal of Market Access Nigeria is to facilitate market
access for Small and Growing Businesses by keying them into
the value chain of large organizations.
The first edition of Market Access Nigeria held at the Ladi
Kawli Conference Centre, Sheraton, Abuja on 31st May, 2012.

In the past school year, four EIR sessions the private arm of the World Bank. EDC is the Country Partner for
the SME Toolkit Nigeria.
