Corsten, Port Elizabeth. It was a meeting of the
A.N.C.
Hayekiso acted as Chairman at tht meeting. He told
the audience how the A.N.C. had been fjuuuutxxxix
formed in 1912 as a result of oppressive laws. He
forecast that the A.N.C. would be a political party
such as the United Party and would finally govern.
He said that many people were answering to the call
for boycotting of schools and that it was expected
that there.would be more support in the future.

Meeting hel" on 13/12/55 at Corsten, Port Elizabeth. There is so ie confusion wheth r this meeting was called by the A.N.C. or the trade Unions. At p. U900 the meetinr is described as an A.N.C. meeting whereas at P*l;905 it a. pears that the meeting was celled under the auspices of the Trade Unions.
i*kwayl was the Chairman at the meeting. He stated that he wondered whether his coloured friends would also oopose 2'iantu Education because it would affect them in the future* lie further stated that he heard that a member of the Spoclal Branch, fir. Fritz, was trying to stop coloured people from attending these raoetings. He follows this by saying :

He also blamed the Crovernment for the ugliness of
Corsten, He said that the Government wished to make

to join tho Trade Unions as they were the backbone of
the W ide campaign,
