Clear Fare Policy

PAYMENT OF FARES

It is the operator’s responsibility to collect the correct fare.

In the event a passenger does not deposit the correct fare, inform the passenger of the fare policy and if they do not have the unpaid fare balance, allow them to ride.

DO NOT further challenge the customer, but rather tell the customer: “to have a seat,” and count the passenger with the letter “D” on the fare box.

If a passenger refused to pay the fare, explain the fare policy to the passenger. If they still refuse to pay the fare, notify the operations supervisor and they will send assistance while you continue in service.

Clear Fare Policy

DO NOT pursue an argument with the customer over a fare. The operations supervisor will instruct you on the necessary action to be taken.

If a passenger boards the bus with no change, allow them to seek change from other passengers. If he/she cannot obtain change, allow the passenger to ride, but explain the fare policy.

Tell the customer “to have a seat” and count the passenger with the letter “D” on the fare box. For repeated incidents of fare evasion by the same customer, submit a report with the description of the individual and location of boarding for follow-up.
