GOOD FRIDAY IS A DAY OF FAST AND ABSTINENCE: GUIDELINES FOR OBSERVANCE ♦ Abstinence is a penitential practice which

consists of refraining from the consumption of meat and is to be observed by all Catholics who are 14 years of age and older. (There is no upper age limit.) Good Friday is a Day of Abstinence.

♦ Fasting means that one full meal is allowed; and two smaller meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Fasting also means that eating between meals is not permitted, although drinking of liquids is allowed. Fasting is to be observed on Good Friday by all Catholics be-tween the ages of 18-59 years (inclusive).

GOOD FRIDAY HOLY LAND COLLECTION On Friday the annual Good Friday Collection will

be taken up at both the 1:00 PM and 7:30 PM Pas-sion Liturgies.

Christians around the world are united in a special way during Lent, Holy Week and Easter. Our hearts, minds and prayers are especially aware of the Holy Land. Our parish and parishes everywhere, once a year on Good Friday, are called on to support Chris-tians there, the Living Stones of the Holy Land. Many Christians in the Holy Land depend on this collection for their well-being. As a pontifical collection request-ed by Pope Francis, the annual Good Friday Collec-tion offers a direct link for parishioners to be witness-es of peace and to help protect the Holy Places. Franciscans and others in the Holy Land are housing and feeding the poor, providing religious formation and education, maintaining shrines and parishes, and conducting pastoral ministry. Please be as generous as your abundance allows. For more information, vis-it: www.MyFranciscan.org

They are tasked by Pontius Pilate with solving the mystery of what happened to the Body of Jesus in the weeks immediately following the crucifixion in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. But Clavius soon under-goes a crisis of faith when he witnesses miraculous events during his investigation. Viewing time:107 minutes. Downstairs in O'Donnell Hall from 7:15-9:15 PM All adults are welcome. No admission charge.
