Palm Beach Lakes High School UNIFORM DRESS CODE 2021-2022

THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE PALM BEACH LAKES HIGH SCHOOL UNIFORM DRESS CODE FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR.

Shirts /Tops

Any color shirt or crew neck t-shirt – stripes, plaids, etc. are allowed. Shirts are not required to be tucked in however, untucked shirts must be no longer than fingertips reach

and students should have no skin showing.

T-Shirts are allowed. No Memoriam Shirts (R.I.P.) allowed. T-Shirts may not display weapons, drugs, vulgarity, violence or any other inappropriate images.

T-Shirts may not be tied in the front or back.

Tank tops and spaghetti straps ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Pants and Skirts

Pants can be any color. Rips and frays on pants are permitted, however, NO SKIN CAN BE SHOWN. Denim (Jeans) can be worn. Joggers made of Docker type fabric or denim are allowed. All pants must fit appropriately – no baggy

pants. Per Florida Statute 1006.07 – Students are prohibited, while on the grounds of a Public School during the regular day, from wearing clothing that exposes underwear or body parts.

Shoes/Headwear

Any closed toe and closed heel shoe is acceptable. No Bandanas allowed. No sunglasses are to be worn in the classrooms.

Slides are permissible. For safety reasons, socks must be worn. NO bare feet allowed. NO flip-flops, or bedroom slippers allowed.

Backpacks

Any style backpack is allowed.

Unacceptable Clothing

Any clothing not included in the approved Palm Beach Lakes Dress Code is deemed unacceptable. Skirts must be knee length (no short skirts) – No slits in skirts. NO tights, leggings, knit skirts/pants or Yoga pants allowed. No shorts or capris. Dress Code clothing cannot be altered including but not limited to: rolled partly, cutting/rolling up,

imprinted images or emblems or any kind. No underclothes showing (underwear) at any time.

Camisas

▪ Camisa de cualquier color - se permiten rayas, cuadros, etc.

▪ No se requiere que las camisas estén remetidas, sin embargo, las camisas desabrochadas no deben ser más largas que

el alcance de la punta de los dedos y los estudiantes no deben tener la piel visible.

▪ Se permiten camisetas. No se permiten camisetas Memoriam (R.I.P.). Las camisetas no pueden mostrar armas,

drogas, vulgaridad, violencia o cualquier otra imagen inapropiada.

▪ Las camisetas no se pueden atar en la parte delantera o trasera.

▪ NO SE PERMITEN camisetas sin mangas ni tirantes finos.

Pantalones y faldas

▪ Los pantalones pueden ser de cualquier color.

▪ Los pantalones rotos y deshilachados están permitidos, sin embargo, NO SE PUEDE MOSTRAR PIEL.

▪ Se pueden usar mahones (jeans).

▪ Se permiten los pantalones tipo jogging hechos de tela tipo Docker o denim. Todos los pantalones deben

ajustarse apropiadamente -no pantalones colgados. Según la Póliza de Florida 1006.07 - Los estudiantes

tienen prohibido, mientras se encuentren en los terrenos de una escuela pública durante el día regular, usar

ropa que exponga la ropa interior o partes del cuerpo.

Zapatos / Gorras

▪ Cualquier zapato cerrado con punta y tacón cerrado es aceptable.

▪ No se permiten pañuelos.

Mochilas

▪ Se permite cualquier estilo de mochila.

Ropa inaceptable Cualquier ropa que no esté incluida en el código de vestimenta aprobado POR

Palm Beach Lakes se considera inaceptable.

▪ Las faldas deben llegar hasta la rodilla (no faldas cortas) - No aberturas en las faldas.

Important information to ensure your success:

SCHOOL DATE/TIMES

School will resume for the 2021-22 school year on Wednesday, August 10, 2021.

Courtyard opens at 7:00am. School begins at 7:30am and ends at 2:45pm

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Students need to have a notebook/paper/pen and pencil for the first day of school. Teachers will give specific

supply lists for their courses on the first day of school.

Bring your charged Chromebook to school with your charger DAILY, as teachers will be

incorporating technology not only for instructional purposes, but for submitting work as well.

Freshmen can check out their Chromebook at orientation on August 5th. Chromebook checkout will

begin after orientation in the Media Center. You MUST have your PB Lakes ID to check out a

Chromebook. PLEASE, PLEASE get your ID prior to orientation (please see ID information below).

Student ID Badges are MANDATORY

and must be worn the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

All students are required to wear a school identification badge at all times for safety (Marjory Stoneman

Douglas High School Public Safety Act).

The identification badge is considered part of the school dress code, and students must be in full dress

code when on campus.

Having an ID with you, but not worn appropriately is a violation of the Palm Beach Lakes Community

High School dress code.

Students are responsible for their identification badge, and will be required to pay the replacement fee of

$5 EACH time the badge is lost, stolen, defaced, or damaged as the ID is the property of Palm Beach

Lakes Community High School.

Students may come to PBLHS (Nate Collins Auditorium Lobby) between 9am and 3pm from

Monday, July 26 to Thursday, July 29 and Monday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 3

to take their picture and receive their ID badge.

Bus Transportation Information

The School District now requires that all bus riders register for their bus.

You must register to ride even if you rode the bus last year.

Students must login to their student portal and click on the “Register Your Ride” icon.

The deadline for the initial registration period is July 25, 2021.

Registrations received after this deadline may result in delays.

Students residing two miles or less from school are NOT eligible for transportation per section 1011.68, Florida Statutes and State

Board of Education Rule 6A-3001, Basic Principles for Transportation of Students.

Palm Beach Lakes High School is going digital, so

all student schedules will be found through the Student Information System (SIS).

Parents and students who are new to the district will receive information for SIS at

orientation. There will a table at orientation to assist first-time users with usernames and

passwords. Existing users will continue using their username and password from last

year.

Due to the delay of the state testing results, we are still working on student schedules.

Final schedules will be posted in SIS on Friday, August 6th.

We expect all students and parents to download the SIS app onto their phones. This will

allow everyone to have access to students’ schedules and grades.
