PAL3 TN Installation Purge Gas Tube 1200mm x-axis Outside Installation Instructions for Purge Gas Tube Outside routing PAL3 1200mm x-axis: Overview: Instruments with extended x-axis are equipped with the gas tubing outside routed. At earlier instrument the gas tubing was inside routed. This instruction is for upgrading an instrument with inside routing to outside in the field. The advantage of the outside routing is to prevent a blockage of the arm during movement and easier replacement in the field. The tubing is connected by two quick couplings and fixed to the x-axis by 4 tubing holders.

1 x Tube in tube 7 x plastic clamps with screws and washers (spare material in case existing parts are damaged or unavailable)

Installation Instructions Retrofit Kit: For replacement tube installation please refer to picture 1. Remove simply the old tube, replace the new tube as shown on the picture and connect it to the two quick couplings.

1. Step: Remove side cover and the

X-axis tube inside completely

3. Step: Remove the cover from the

carriage to access the purge gas tube and pull it out

5. Step: Connect the purge gas tube

to the connector on the back plate from the kit

2. Step: Remove y-axis back cover

4. Step: Cut purge gas tube flush with

the y-axis-tube

6. Step: Mount the y-axis-cover again

and put two plastic guides to the opposed side of the connector.

7. Step: Remove Back Cover

8. Step: Turn quick coupling 90° and

install side cover

9. Step: Mount the blind panel with the hole, which comes with the kit. Mount the three clamps on the upper screws like pictured below,

For the replacement kit: Simply disconnect the old tubing by loosen the plastic guides and put the new tube in. Do not bend the tube while doing so! If there is any question, please contact support@ctc.ch. Best regards
