Periodically, federal laws have been extended to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to complement the criminal and administrative system as defined in the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR). Unlike other parts of Pakistan, FATA is governed primarily by the colonial-era FCR, originally implemented in 1901 and remaining in force to date. View, sort and download the complete spreadsheet at the following link: http://bit.ly/fatacaselaw --- Most critics characterize the FCR as an outdated legal mechanism and regularly point out that the regulation simultaneously violates universally recognized human rights, international treaties and fundamental rights guaranteed in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. By conferring absolute administrative, judicial, electoral and executive powers on the political administration (controlled directly by the federal government), the FCR denies the people of FATA any authentic representative government, due process and the separation of powers necessary to prevent conflict of interest from denying rights or guaranteeing proper implementation of the responsibilities of a fair and accountable government authority.
