JULY TO SEPTEMBER- 2007

Strong Monsoon weather system persists although it lies mainly over Southern Rajasthan/Indian Gujarat.

Balochistan: scattered rainfall with possibility of isolated heavy fall.

Sindh: widespread rains / dust storms. Sea conditions will be rough. Fishermen advised not to venture into open sea on August 9. Normal activities may resume on August 10.

Overview The situation has been stabilized. Threat is still there. Situation in Jhal Magsi still cause of concern. Adequate

rations available. Road links being restored. No epidemic Early recovery has priority Help needed in restoring livelihoods, fixing basic

infrastructure – wells, schools. World Bank and ADB will give their damage assessment

report in August. Cooperation with UN, International Organizations and

NGOs being streamlined Unearmarked assistance in small amounts creating

problems for the UN
