It was great to spend time with students and families for a social occasion and have so much fun together while raising funds for our amazing school. I would like to thank the entire Pagewood PS community for supporting our biggest fundraiser for 2019 - buying tickets, baking cakes, donating and selling goods, assisting with the BBQ, bidding on the silent auction, working on stalls and attending our Market Carnival. I would like to thank the P&C and parent/carer volunteers who have worked so tirelessly behind the scenes for many months to ensure the success and smooth running of our Market Carnival. In particular I would like to thank Juliet who has led the P&C team to such success! Thank you to our dedicated teachers for giving up their Saturday to support our school as well as the wonderful class artwork that was auctioned. We are very fortunate to have such a great family community here at Pagewood PS and our students benefit enormously from our community efforts. Congratulations to Sophie in Year 6 who has been selected in the Sydney Representative Debating Team to compete at the 2019 Primary Schools State Debating Championships which will be held from the 3-6 November 2019. Sophie attended a full day workshop last week and was selected a large number of students. Well done! Last week we held our Stage 1 Public Speaking finals. Well done to all of our Stage 1 students who made the finals. That concludes our public speaking program for 2019 and I would like to congratulate all those students who competed this year. Well done everyone. This week is Wellbeing Week! Wellbeing Week provides the opportunity for all students and staff to promote an overall awareness for the various aspects of wellbeing, including social, physical, emotional, community and environmental wellbeing. There are various activities planned for this week to promote wellness. I hope all of the students, staff and parents enjoy a little bit of downtime this week. Last week we spent time discussing R U OK? Day. Their mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life. Thanks to Mrs Bevis for providing the resources for teachers. This Thursday there will be a Cybersafety Parent Workshop after school at 3.30pm in the library. I hope as many parents as possible can join this workshop for this vital information. PPS P&C (Parents and Citizens) News

THANK YOU!

Raffle winners - We will call you to arrange a time for collection of your prize

Raffle class prize - Drum roll.... our winning class will be announced at assembly this week!

Silent Auction winners - We will contact you via email to arrange for collection of your items

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Market Carnival such a wonderful day. Huge crowds, spectacular performances,

thrilling rides, fabulous food, sensational silent auction and a roaring trade for all the stalls! Check out our Facebook page to see

some great pictures from the day https://www.facebook.com/PPSMarketCarnival/

A huge thanks goes to the Market Carnival Committee, Nicky, Bek, Andigone, Meg, Annette, Alysia, Sharon and Jess, who

embraced the challenges with grace and good humour. They can go back to their families and normal jobs now this one is done!

The support provided by the school was exceptional. Our Principal Nicole, the office staff, and the teachers were amazing. It

was a gripping countdown for the online silent auction finish. Can you believe that two of our fabulous class artwork

masterpieces sold for $400 each!

An enormous thank you also to all the school families who worked so hard volunteering on the fabulous variety of class stalls,

donating goods, selling and buying raffle tickets, delivering pamphlets and putting up posters.

We’re still balancing the books, but it’s fair to say that the money raised by the carnival exceeded expectations. If you want to

find out how much, see you at the next P&C meeting! Too long? OK we’ll announce it soon, we promise!

So many businesses and people generously sponsored and donated fabulous prizes to our raffle, silent auction and goods for our

class stalls. Please see over for our thankyou list. Sincere apologies if I missed anyone.

We have collectively done a fabulous job to raise funds to resource our growing school. What a lovely community, it’s no

wonder everyone wants to come here!

With thanks, Juliet
