That is down one cent from this time last year. Those gures are from a study by AAA, which said that while the price is high, it is slightly better than was predicted. The cost for a barrel of crude oil dropped $107 last week after the Labor Department reported fewer jobs were added in July than expected. However, in- creased tensions in the Middle East and North Africa regions and the worldwide travel alert have the market on edge, which could cause fuel prices to spike in the near future. “As always, there are multiple factors persuading both oil and gas prices, yet motorists are paying only a few cents differ- ence on average than they did this time last year,” said Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman. “So far, we haven’t seen motorists make extensive behavior chang- es to their daily routines to save money as a direct result of in- creased gas prices.
