Teachers work together in year levels to develop balanced classes across the school. This is a very complex process with many determining factors considered by our teachers. We plan with great care to provide: A balance of the range of academic abilities within each class & across classes A balance of students with learning & support needs within each class across all classes A balance of students who are role models in each class & across classes Classes will go through a process to have children identify possible friendships. While we cannot consider parent requests, if you feel that you have information of an educational nature that needs to be considered within our planning process please submit this information in writing to the Principal by Monday 4 November 2013. Providing information does not guarantee agreement. To accurately plan for classes in 2014, it is imperative that we have as much information as possible in terms of families who are relocating at the end of 2013 and not returning to The Kuluin School in 2014. If you know that your family will not be at our school next year please advise your child’s classroom teacher or the school office. Quadrennial School Review (QSR) The school is currently undertaking a review of all areas of operation of our school. The purpose of this review is to set the direction for the next four years for our school. In order for us to gain a better understanding of how our school is running and the way it is seen by others, particularly our parent body, we would appreciate it if you could complete a survey. To date the response rate to the survey has been quite low. This survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Please follow the link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K9YGKXC. It would be appreciated if this survey could be completed as soon as possible. Sports News

Swimming for Years 1 - 3 commences this week. Please be ready for lessons, even if it is raining. Remember closed-in shoes for on the bus. Congratulations to all of our tennis players who played in the Dwyer-Dickson Shield competition. All players did a great job and have learnt a great deal about playing doubles (green ball competition). The Years 3 and 4’s played on a smaller court and needed to modify their game to suit the court size. Thanks to all of the parents who supported the children at this event.

The Aquathon is on in November and it is for 11 and 12 year olds in 2014. All the information is on the noticeboard near the Tuckshop.

The Noosa Triathlon and Sports Festival is on this weekend. A kids triathlon will be held as well and some fun runs and swims at the beach. Check out the noticeboard near the Tuckshop. Checkout the Noosa Triathlon Website for more details.

Have an active week everyone. Tony Doherty PE Teacher

Thank you

I wanted to say a big thank you to all the parents, children and staff who have supported Debbie, Gina and I in our fundraising for The Weekend Walk to End Cancer’s in Women. The 60km walk took place in Brisbane over the weekend in very hot conditions – and oh my goodness, the hills! It was an amazing experience with 1,346 walkers some of which were cancer survivors. When the feet and the legs felt like they couldn’t go another step, you just looked around you and saw these ladies and remembered what they had gone through and it put everything into perspective! The total amount of money raised amongst all fundraisers was $3.5 million and all the monies will be going towards the RBWH and the QIMR, both of who had representatives walking and were so appreciative of everyone’s efforts. So many of you supported us along the way with donations, buying raffle tickets or attending the Ladies Night at Maroochydore FC in August. We could not have taken part in this wonderful event without your support and we thank you all so much. It was a very inspiring event and maybe consider giving it a go in 2014!
