eHRPD to LTE handoff• Current Status

– C.S0087 defines E-UTRA record that allows idle handoff from eHRPD to LTE

• However, the current mechanism does not allow network to selectively redirect eATs during active mode, which will be helpful for the following scenarios:– Load balancing– Handoff from eHRPD to LTE when LTE is available.

Measurement Trigger for E-UTRA measurements

– Extend “RouteUpdateRequest” message in Route-Update-Protocol• Add E-UTRA channel record (see earlier slide)

– ChannelIncluded field may be set to ‘0’ if network is requesting measurement report only for E-UTRA channels

– Inclusion of E-UTRA channel record indicates the UE to send E-UTRA measurements

• UE support of E-UTRA measurements support indicated using SupportRouteUpdateEnhancements attribute

– UE reports all Physical cell IDs on the channel requested
