will be of Interest In Paducah Tho young lady who had such n narrow escape has visited the family of Mr W P Paxton of West Jefferson street and Is well known here as are her two sisters The Globe Democratsays Miss Alma Higgins of 4484 For est Park boulevard daughter of Frank S Higgins secretary of the William Higgins leather company had a narrow escape from drowning recently while bathing In Lake Hu ¬ ron Deach hick Her rescue was of ¬ fected only after heroic efforts on the part of two boys who risked their lives in the attempt In company with a large party of boys and girls Mlsq HIggins was bathing in the lake one Sunday af ¬ ternoon The water was very rough and the young people were having a great time Jumping the waves Suddenly a large billow knocked Miss Higgins off her feet and be- fore she could recover her balance she was carried by the undertow far out into the lake The noise of the surf drowned her cry for help but as soon as her danger was discovered John A Lee a 17year old boy of Chicago t III without a moments hesitation I expertIswiruner girl without difficulty and seized her by the hair Miss Higgins how ¬ ever grabbed young Leo tightly im ¬ peding his movements
