Fundraising Benefits
Operating Revenue for the PackAnnual expenses for the pack are a minimum of $6000
Pack Re-charter, Advancement, Blue and Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby, Picnics, Holiday Party, Etc.
See the budget enclosed in your packet
In order to achieve $6000 minimum needed for annual operating capital from the fundraiser, the pack must sell at least $24,000 of combined popcorn and wreaths
Bottom line, we either make a commitment to fundraising the necessary pack income for the year, or we have to charge the scout families annual dues.

Pack 692 Sales Goals
2014 Pack/Troop Overall Fundraiser Sales Goal $40,000 ($30,000 Popcorn & $10,000 Wreaths)
(2013 fundraising combined sales total was $38,430 – Lets see if we can beat it!!!)
Each scout will have a total fundraiser sales goal of $800 for us to fundraise enough to cover the 2014 pack operating expenses and be able to add some new fun activities
• Total goal can be any combination of wreath and popcorn sales; including credit from the store front sales where they participate
• Guaranteed Scout account rate: 10% of the amount the scout sells– Example: Scout sells their goal of $800 in wreaths and popcorn
The profit on the sales are as follows:» Scout sales: $800 x 10% margin = $80.00 in their scout account
» Pack profit $800 x 25% margin = $200.00 toward the pack goal
Scouts should always be in Uniform when selling

Pack 692 / Troop 692
• During the 2014-2015 scout year, Den 6 Web II’s will be transitioning to Boy Scouts
• It is the goal of the committee to revive Troop 692 this year – Each scout as a Web II can review and choose any Troop to join
– It is the hope of the committee that going forward the scouts who transition from Pack 692 into boy scouts will have the option to move on with their friends as a group/unit
– It will also enable Troop 692 to provide den chiefs who have ties/friends back into the pack - to help the pack grow
• To ensure a successful startup of Troop 692, the all or a portion of the fundraising that is done by Den 6 Web II’s will go toward the startup of Troop 692 as it currently has an account balance of $0.00.
– The exact % of that will transfer to the troop will be determined by the Pack Committee at the end of the sale. It will depend on the success of the sale overall.
If you have more questions on the startup of Troop 692 – please attend a committee meeting or contact a committee member
5
Troop 692 (Den 6 – Web II’s)-Will discuss in a Den Meeting
• The Council will offer a “Cash Only” option to Boy Scout Troops:– The Troop has the option to achieve all of the prize awards that the Cub
Scouts do
Or…..
– They can choose to receive 4% more “cash” in the profit return – and opt out of the Popcorn Prize Program which you select one of multiple prizes based on the sales level you reach
• The profit margin for the troop sales would be a total of 39% of sales vs the typical 35%
– They are still eligible for all of the council prizes and for the Pack/Troop 692 specific prizes
– The Troop must make a decision (as a collective group) by October 15th on whether or not to choose the “Cash Only” option

Popcorn Sales Show and Sell
Storefront sales dates are scheduled at various locations throughout the fundraiser
Maximum of 2 scouts for each hour – per location
Sales credit for all storefronts held during the sale will be divided among all participants equally– Total Storefront sales / (total scout hours) = $/Hr (has averaged $60-70/hr)
Easier to staff the storefronts because no matter which one or how much sold, in the end there is a single hourly rate for all scouts.
Hourly rate will be communicated as each storefront ends to help you with tracking toward your goal.
Many, Many additional storefronts this year!!!
STOREFRONTS Count toward overall sales for

Popcorn Sales - Show and Sell : Storefront Selling Tips
Most people buy on the way out of the store.
• We will be able to accept Credit Cards again this year!!!
• The boys should give a friendly greeting and hold the door open for customers
• Have a bag in hand – something yummy
• Sell the Scouts, not just the product– Make sure people understand that it’s a fundraiser – to help justify the price
– Tell the boys to thank everyone and wish them a good day; whether they buy or not
Make sure the scouts can answer questions about prices and taste of the product – and use “Would you like to support Cub Scouts?” instead of Would you like to buy some popcorn.
Don’t sit on chairs – you sell more if everyone is standing and engaging the customers
Scouts should be in uniform!
