CHRISTIAN AND TRADITIONALIndividuals addicted to alcohol or drugsexperience a life that is thrown off balance byaddiction. Commonly, they become alienatedfrom God. The founders of AlcoholicsAnonymous recognized this fact and built the12-Step program upon clear spiritual principlesfrom the B ible. The staff of Pacific Hills offers two distinct, yet overlapping 12-Step programs: Christianand Traditional. In the Christian program weoffer a Christ-centered, biblical approach torecovery, while in the Traditional program wepresent recovery based on God as the individualmay understand Him ( as presented inAlcoholics Anonymous).Clients may choose our Christian or ourTraditional program, wh ichever is mostcomfortable for them. And, they may changeprograms at any time during their treatment staywithout complication or judgment.

The high quality of treatment at Pacific Hiis greatly attributable to our well-credentialed fessional staff. We have a physician andpsychiatrist on staff to treat minor medicalproblems and psychiatric issues. Our treatmenteam is led by a licensed clinical psychologistwith over 20 years experience in the field. Our case managers all maintain variousalcohol and drug certifications and share manyyears in recovery. Our therapists are all masterlevel and licensed by the state. We have severordained ministers on staff to tend to the spirithealing of our clients in a non -judgmental wayMost importantly, our staff genuinely careAnd. it shows in the healing changes our clienexperience.

OUR TREATMENT PHILOSOPHYWe consider chemical dependency to bea physical, mental and spiritual disease. Webelieve that individuals can recover from theirdisease and can rebuild abstinent, productive lin recovery. We believe that recovery from addictivedisorders is a process of transformation. And.while we cannot provide a cur e for addictivedisorders or promise a life free of relapse, we and do prepare our clients to recognize andrespond responsibly to their own relapse proceWe also believe that a strong spiritualfoundation is essential to an effective recovervprogram, and that the nature of that spiritualfoundation is revealed in the quality of eachclient's relationship with God. At Pacific Hillwe encourage and nurture this relationship in our Christian and our Transitional programs.

We consider chemical depe ndency to be a physicamental and spiritual disease and the chemicallydependent person to be deserving o f the s am e respect andignity afforded to persons afflicted with any otherillness. We believe that individuals can recover fromtheir disease and can rebuild ab stinent productive lives irecovery. We conside r it essential to address the fullspectrum of each client's psychological, physical andspiritual needs. Without addressing the whole person, the individual struggling with addiction is left without athe necessary tools to return to a healthy, fruitful life inrecovery.Recovery from addictive disorders is a process oftransform ation. And while we cannot provide a cure foaddictive disorders o r promise that ou r clients will neveexperience relapse, we can and d o prepare ou r clients torecognize and respond to their own relapse process. Inthis way, each client's recovery is optimized.Clients are encouraged to respect themselves and ttake responsibility for their own lives. Recovery fromchemical depend ence requires a decision on the part ofthe client to accept and fully participate in the treatmen tprocess, and to encou rage the participation of family andsignificant others, when app ropriate. We provide asupportive atmosph ere conducive to clients making theright decisions. To ensure optimal response to our treatmentprogram , a wide variety of treatme nt modalities areoffered, including the work of Terence G orski, M A., onof the leading authorities on recovery and relaps eprevention. And , while our multi-disciplinary treatmentteam is committed to expa nding our repertoire ofmodalities, w e believe that the self-help group ofAlcoholics Anonym ous/Narcotics Anonymous is themodality with the broadest measure of success.
