• Multicéntrico, aleatorizado y controlado
• No enmascarado.• End point primario: FEVI, test de los 6
min y puntuación en el test de MLWHF.• End point secundario: Supervivencia

• Causas reversibles de FA e ICC: pericarditis, hipertiroidismo, valvulopatías y taquicardiomiopatías.
• FA post-operatoria.• Maze previo.• Expectativa de vida < a 2 años.• Alta probabilidad de tx cardiaco en 12 meses.• Contraindicaciones para tto antiarrítmico o anticoagulante.• Enfermedad pulmonar severa• Trombos o tumores intra-auriculares.• Cx cardiaca o ICP en los 3 meses previos

En los pacientes tratados con aislamiento de las venas pulmonares, el beneficio fue mayor en los pacientes con FA no paroxística.

La FEVI mejoró en el 76 % de los pacientes del grupo 1 y solamente en el 25 % del grupo 2, el diámetro de la aurícula izda en el 80 y 15 % respectivamente.
