RAPUNZEL We have prepared a wonderful show for you, and we’re just about ready to start. At this time, we ask that you please turn off your cell phones, pagers, and all other electronic devices, and please refrain from booing, hissing, heckling the actors, food fights, and any flash photography. As an added note, please do not kick the seat in front of you or throw popcorn at the stage. Rudeness and improper conduct might result in banishment or exile. NARRATOR: Once upon a time, there was a beautiful baby girl with golden blonde hair named Rapunzel. This baby was taken by a Wicked Witch who locked her in a high tower with no doors or stairs, and only one window on top. Rapunzel grew up to be a beautiful woman with a magnificent singing voice and very long, golden hair. Alone in her tower, the Witch was Rapunzel’s only visitor. WITCH: Rapunzel. Rapunzel, let down your hair. RAPUNZEL: Coming, Mother! WITCH: Stop singing and wasting time. I’m still waiting. Let’s go. Rapunzel! RAPUNZEL: So sorry. WITCH: Here is your dinner. I must go now for my hair appointment. RAPUNZEL: I’m lonely. Can you stay so we can talk? WITCH: Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye! NARRATOR: As the Witch was leaving, a handsome Prince was riding by and saw the Witch climbing down the tower. The next day, the Prince heard Rapunzel singing, so he went up to the tower and called out. PRINCE: Hello! Hello, up there in the tower. RAPUNZEL: Hello! Here, climb up using this. NARRATOR: Rapunzel threw her golden hair down the wall of the tower so the Prince could climb up. The two… The two talked for hours until they heard the Witch’s voice outside calling. WITCH: Rapunzel. Rapunzel, let down your hair. And now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! NARRATOR: When the witch reached the top and saw the Prince, she angrily pushed him out of the tower and punished Rapunzel by banishing her into the wilderness. She could no longer deal with all the headaches Rapunzel was causing!

WITCH: Out! Out you go!

NARRATOR: After many months passed, Rapunzel was singing while walking around in the wilderness.

RAPUNZEL: La-la la la…

NARRATOR: Just then, the Prince wandered into the same wilderness and heard Rapunzel singing.

RAPUNZEL: La-la la la…

PRINCE: Rapunzel? Rapunzel! I missed you so much! Where have you been? I heard you singing!

RAPUNZEL: I cannot believe it's you! My dreams have come true!

NARRATOR: The Prince and Rapunzel fell in love, married, and lived happily ever after.
