Design Brief `
Constructions of septic vaults on site were changed to pre-cast rather than in-situ. Each location was found short in space to perform open excavation. Engineering department opted to use sheet piles retaining wall to each excavation. Walls and struts are used which are reflected to shown computations. Design was based as per latest edition of National Structural Code of the Philippines 6th edition (NSCP 2010). Load combinations are as per Strength Design (LRFD) with adequate factor of safety.
Assumption and Design Concept
Geotechnical soil properties are as per Onshore Geotechnical Design Basis Report of TSE PROJECT UNITS 1 & 2 2x150 MW Coal-fired power plant
Free Earth Method used for sheet pile analysis
Design Loads 1. Dead Loads
Dead Loads are as per transferred forces based from idealized soil strata shown in the computations below
2. Live Loads
Surcharge Load 30 kPa 3. Wind Load
Wind Loads will not be considered for the analysis
4. Earthquake Loads
EQ Loads will not be considered for the analysis Design Parameters
