A Shyamaprasad Film
CHANGE is what we all cherish. But do we reallyunderstand the changes we go through in our lives?
Look out of the window pane near you. Do you see life?Do you see the seasons? Are they changing?
Well, then, look carefully...
SARAT VARMA (Nishaan) did not quite realize it. St least hecouldnt catch it while he was within the throes ofchange. He had lived in memories. He was the memory
man, like that memory tree by their favorite placidblue lake. Son of a serene writer - translator, Sarat getsthrown into the glittering cosmos of the cyberdom
un-wilfully. The dreamer of the pack, Sarat sees themall living in a beach house somewhere in Cyprus or
Bahamas in the next ten years. Varsha, he knew, wouldbe his own one day. Sunny, he knew, would grow up tohis grace. One takes a lifetime to realize what one
wants from life. Sarat knew it well before. But, howwrong he could have been?
VARSHA (Rima) had missed her dad all her life. How far
she showed it around could be questionable. She flitslike a dove that pecks around as if she had a springypair of feet. She believed in the bonding she grew up
with her most beloved one, Sarat and of course, thatrascal boy, Sunny. Oh, one hell of ride was her life! From her town, Varsha moves along with Sunny to
Bangalore for a short while, till Sarat returns from theUS. They meet after three years to begin it all anew. Now she can live with her own sweet secrets forever

buried in her. She can start afresh. But, did she knewhow wrong she was?
SUNNY (Asif) had always carried the bruises his
businessman dad had left in his body and soul. Theysurfaced once in a while through his passion, loudness, his outbursts and his private sensuous
moments. his choices are for the moment. meaningshe didnt find in days or years ahead. Rather, he finds
them in the now. And he lives there. Oh, his too was asmooth and jolly journey. He can keep all that moneythat will come from his own designs and gets quickly to
his blissful life. Well, how wrong he too was.
.
New tells the tale of three young friends who move
through a fascinating season in their lives, differentfrom the earlier one they really cherished. Seasonof life change. Friends change. You change.
So did Sarat Varma, Varsha, and Sunny. While
growing up together in love and their beautifulinnocence. They were almost inseparable. Their lovefor each other was indivisible. Yet, a time came when
the three of them stumble upon the truths aboutthemselves. Suddenly, they can see themselves in anew light. In fright and pain, athey ask themselves:
are we really what we think we are?
On one level, it could be said that New weaves in
subtly the undertone of this misunderstanding, realization. On another and a more visible level, it is about one big
web of wishes, dreams, and desires the three youngfriends weaves around themselves.
New is a graceful and breezy story of the journey ofthe three young people into the wonders of life.Perhaps, you will someday, reflect upon yourself to
check and see which one of them is you.
Trust us: it would be refreshing and revealing.
