Foreword from the team

The Al Abbar family’s association with aluminium and glass can be traced back to the 1950’s - where the Al Abbar founders worked on the doors and windows of low rise buildings leading to the formation of Al Abbar Aluminium in the 1980’s.

60 years later - Al Abbar has been associated with the most prestigious building in the world.

The completion of the Burj Khalifa podium & annexes is a fitting testament to the growth of our business. Al Abbar now employs thousands across the UAE and Asia. From ground level to the tallest building, our work encompasses everything in between.

Under the guidance of our visionary leaders, the United Arab Emirates has transformed itself into the cosmopolitan, forward thinking, world class business and trading hub we operate in today. Al Abbar has grown in parallel with the development of the UAE, and has formed one of the strongest teams in the industry in response to the challenges of the international market.

We are proud to say that Al Abbar has been instrumental in the building of Dubai. The iconic 7 star Burj Al Arab Hotel, the landmark Emirates Towers Hotel and our company showpiece; Terminal 3 & Concourse 2 at Dubai International Airport opened in an exciting period of expansion culminating with the completion of the Burj Khalifa.

Al Abbar Aluminium has designed, fabricated, and installed façades on some of the world’s most iconic projects: Burj Al Arab Hotel, Bahrain World Trade Centre, Dubai International Airport Concourses 1 & 2, Burj Khalifa, Emirates Towers and many others.

With the support of the other facilities in the Group, the aluminium division can offer solutions to all façade engineering challenges, and offer co-ordinated design, production and installation, all under a strict ISO 9001 system which guarantees quality and consistency. Clients undertake far less risk dealing with an experienced, market leading one-stop-shop, than if they deal with multiple and layered contractors in order to achieve projects such as those we have already successfully completed.

Al Abbar owns one of the largest glass-processing facilities in the region, specialising in the production of selective high performance low-E coated glass.

With outstanding technological assets at its disposal, Al Abbar is a leading supplier of processed glass products and continues to satisfy needs of interactive building design and modern construction. State-of-the-art equipment such as jumbo tempering, mould-less bending, intricate silk-screening or complicated insulating glass units help to transform the architectural concepts into reality.

The glass-facility operates under a strict quality regime and received certifications from international insulating and safety councils, as well as accreditation for specialised processing.

The commitment to environmental stewardship is demonstrated through the promise in both its responsible manufacturing processes and its energy efficient selection of glass-products. The high performance and selective low emissivity glass-products, processed under license of one of the world’s leading coating companies, are assessed and listed with an internationally recognised pre-assessment database.

Since conception and through a range of services offering the design, manufacture and installation of architectural stainless steel systems, Al Abbar Stainless Steel has been recognised as the industry leader in the region, with a dedication to quality that is unparalleled.

Al Abbar Stainless Steel offers solutions for both internal and external applications including glass balustrades and railings, straight and spiral staircases, glass canopies, skylights, ceilings, façades, door claddings, point-fix tension rod and cable walls, marine yacht ID work and much more.

Architectural Finishes

Al Abbar Coatings in-house facility provides international standard quality performance architectural finishes of both aluminium and steel materials. These include standard, super and hyper durable powders, 2/3/4 coat PVDF Kynar and also Al Abbar’s unique Air-Dry system used for repairing and coating of oversize materials.

Personnel are provided with extensive training which gives expertise for repair and touch-up of damaged surface finishes at project sites. Technical overviews are undertaken for all coating related enquiries at tender stage and pre-qualification submittals are produced for customers.

Al Abbar Coating has established a significant reputation in the architectural finishing industry having provided coatings for landmark Gulf developments such as: Burj Al Arab Hotel, Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai International Airport Concourses, Dubai International Financial Centre Gate and Precincts, Dubai Logistics City, Bahrain World Trade Center and the Burj Khalifa Podium.

In all our operations we continually strive for environmentally friendly finishing processes and contributing a vital component to any green building project.

Al Abbar Aluminium Phils Inc. - Philippines

Al Abbar Aluminium - Philippines was established in 2004 to provide design and engineering service and support to the Dubai office.

Using the latest workstations equipped with advanced hardware for 3D designs, Al Abbar Aluminium Philippines now produces the bulk of detailed designs, shop drawings and cutting lists for each project. Upon completion they are sent to Al Abbar Aluminium in Dubai for processing and production in Dubai for processing and production through digital network transfer.

Based in Manila, Al Abbar Aluminium Philippines employs a growing number of façade engineers, CAD designers and operators. They also employ and train university graduates under the guidance of experienced façade engineering managers.

Al Abbar Architectural Metal and Glass – India

Al Abbar Architectural Metal and Glass, (AAMG), was established in 2008 to provide design and estimation support to the group.

Through the Al Abbar expansion into the Indian construction market, AAMG is now engaged in actively managing the execution of design, supply, and installation of facades, which has culminated in the highly successful completion of Al Abbar’s first project in Mumbai, Nirlon Knowledge Park Phase II.

The success of this project saw Al Abbar committing both investment and resources to India with the opening of a production facility in Mumbai, in 2010. This will ensure that Al Abbar will continue to provide a level of service and quality to our Indian clients.
