Kindergarteners have been loving going to

art class each week. Kinder-garten students learn the ABCs of Art, by exploring a letter that corresponds with their project for the week. These young artists have already explored line drawing, painted watercol-ors, have created clay bowls, and used texture plates to create some scaly and scary dinosaur drawings! Ellie shows off her new clay bowl.

Welcome back Whitmore families!

My name is Michelle Murphy and I am your Box Top Coordinator for WCSAT. We are well under way with great Box Top collections so far this year.

The winning class for the month of August was Mrs. Burnett’s Kindergarten class, Room 3. They collected 900 Box Tops!! Way to go Room 3!

We celebrated this accomplishment with a wolf treat that included a pencil, lollipop and an otter pop from the Otter Pop Shop.

Winning classes also receive a Wolf Poster that hangs in the room all year and a magnet to hang on the door for all the school to see for the month following the month they won.

We are hoping to reach our goal of $1,355 this year, which is 13,550 box tops. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. We are well under way with over 3,000 collected in the month of Au-gust. Please support our Box Top collections by sending in all your Box Tops with your child the last day of each month. They will be col-lected and tallied every month. Happy Collecting!!!

Hello my name is Angelina Berger. I would like to introduce myself as the new Dance Educator at Whitmore Charter School for the 2012- 2013 school year. I have taught in the classroom for seven years, this being my fifth at Whitmore, and I am ex-cited to be joining the Fine Arts Team this year! We have a lot of activities planned for the students this year.

Dance class is a wonderful outlet for creative expression through movement and music. It is also a fun way to stay active and exercise regularly. Students will be learning various styles of dances this year, some of which will be showcased in school performances such as the K-5 Winter Program on December 19th, Aladdin Kids on February 5th and 6th, and the 2013 Dance Recital on April 11th!

Second grade students in Mrs. Lewis’ class learn the bunny hop!

Whitmore’s Got Talent! We are still reeling from the amazing talent of the Aladdin Kids auditions, and now we get to see you all again for the annual WCSAT Talent Show auditions. We hope to see a variety of acts at these auditions. Remember, any K-8 student can audition. Your act needs to be polished and ready to perform at auditions. You will need karaoke style music if you plan to sing, which needs to be turned into Mr. Hunn by October 15th. You will also need to fill out an audition form that can be picked up at Mr. Hunn’s music room. We can’t wait to see all of our shining stars!
