A new vision.ozed company. founded in 2012, we’re creating sunglasses of a distinctly fresh kind.

rub wax against wood and throw in a little magic… ozed sunglasses are above all a state of mind.

original and unique, our essence derives from the world of surf, snow and ski. inspired by its art, its music and its lifestyle, we’re an independent brand with plenty of room for creativity.

we want to bring back simple and shared values. every member of the ozed family is involved in the development of the brand. ozed isn’t just our brand though: it’s a brand for people who want to get out there and do something. everyone associated or working with the brand is united by the same passion… and by the ultimate desire to just have fun !

due to its structure, your eye assimilates some types of light rays less efficiently than others. horizontal polarised rays are the most disruptive and dazzling. high-reflection areas – such as glazed surfaces, snow, water or sand – tend to alter the sun’s rays. when reflected, the rays leave the surface deformed (change in wave phase, direction, etc.), thus distorting the base signal and causing them to pollute your vision.

our ozed dual technology™ polarized lenses are created from two superimposed linear polarizing filters with vertical components. these filters consist of crystals orientated by electromagnetic treatment. they enable optimum selection of non-deformed waves, eliminating any disruptive signals (dephased reflected waves, etc.).

ozed dual technology™ lenses thus eliminate any disruptive or dazzling waves for the retina, recovering the optimum signals that facilitate image processing by the eye. in this manner, the lenses offer enhanced perception of depth and more authentic colour brilliance, while improving contrast sharpness. you have a clearer vision and your eyes are protected against fatigue, thus providing optimum comfort, even in high-reflection areas.

ozed is deeply committed to reforestation. in fact, every time we sell a pair of ozed wood series sunglasses, a tree is planted in haiti. this small act of eco-citizenry is important to us, and made possible thanks to the pur project association. soon you’ll not only be able to watch our forests grow online, but also to acces your own personal space on the project website and view the tree that was replanted when you bought your pair of ozed wood series sunglasses

ozed is conscious of its own impact on the environment, and especially its carbon dioxide emissions. to that end, all emissions from the manufacture, transport and distribution of our sunglasses are offset through our partnership with the pur project. the amount of co2 emitted from each of our events, products and even from our own lifestyles are recorded, quantified and compensated accordingly.

the wood that we use and the treatment of the wood both meets with the fsc (forest stewardship council) criteria of managing environmental and social standards.

in the spirit of conserving biodiversity and renewing natural resources, all millworks used for the manufacture of our sunglasses are certified ecofriendly. the wood comes from authorised and controlled forests that avoid large-scale chopping and promote the preservation of flora and fauna. our choice of wood is part of the fight against deforestation and the survival of our beautiful planet.

designed by the rock-electro band the shoes this “crack my bones” model is clearly inspired by the rock attitude of the 60’. a mix of metal and acetate wtih a vintage shape, thoses sunglasses bring you right back in the past. close your eyes, feel the smell of the smoke, the noise of the drums and guitares, whisky glasses clinking together, and there you are ! ready for the trip ?

«we loved being a part of this collaboration with ozed. they asked us to create, design and develop our own set of shades. although it was unknown ground for us, the idea and the project seduced us. we wanted

to create a low-key, elegant and chic pair of glasses. this is reflected in the «the shoes» logo delicately engraved on the arms. we took inspiration from all our own glasses that we’ve had for years, taking the best bits from each pair. but our main source of inspiration was an unknown pair from the 70’s. the type of shade

that you’d have found ray manzarek or phil spector wearing.the «crack my bones» series is born.»

i have always worked with various media, canvas, walls, recycled skateboards, wood. so naturally i was seduced by the idea of using glasses as a new medium. you can even draw a

parallel between art and seeing a new incarnation on the way we see things. i worked on one of my big classics, the ‘all over’ with foot motifs and hands that characterize

me!

for me, this is an exercise that i have loved, a type of ‘homage’ to the work of keith haring.my sunglasses is born.

what better way to launch our female range of sunglasses than to ask coline menard, our longboarder, who just so happens to be an optician too, to develop the first model. and the result? sublime curves have been given a feminine, chic and stylish finish with hand drawn ethnic motifs. unique colour ways provided by the choice of material, rosewood. the most noble of all materials.

with the ‘peace fingers’ on each arm, with style, detail, yet understated but with character, this can only be the model from victor de le rue. staying true to his character, the ‘shred it’ is highly original and stylish. the sumer edition has been created with a brown bamboo and embellished with smoky polarized lenses.

i was given carte blanche with creating the model, i wanted something with character, well defined angles, dark lenses, something that rocks, but classy too. i added a touch of metal to further

customize the model, to emphasize the detail and to make it truly unique and original. i opted for solid wood: brown colored bamboo, with a vintage finish created by lightly sanding the edges to give more

of a worn look. and voila, the shred was born! with two versions available, i’ll have a pair perfect for the winter

season in the powder and an ideal pair for the beach!victor.

a little piece of skateboarding from ozed. named after one of the legends of the sport, the stacy has been crafted using skateboard decks. with seven layers and colours moulded together, the end result is unique and original. we love the way each finish highlights certain layers of colours. they come with a handy neoprene case which will easily fit in your pocket - practical too! a must have for the summer.
