AOED

Our senior AOED students in Mr. Robnett's physics class presented their roller coaster projects to a panel of engineering industry professionals, who critiqued and helped grade each group's roller coaster. There were some great ones out there, including a Star Wars themed "X-Wing" ride, a "Joker" (from the Batman comics) ride with holograms, and even some scary ones, like "The Killer" which went up to 7 Gs! The panel had some great questions for the groups, too! The students did well presenting the small-scale models they built, as well as a powerpoint on physics calculations, cost analysis, and choice of theme.

ATHLETICS

As we prepare in becoming a CIF sport for the upcoming school year (which is very much overdue) our competition team which consists of members from both our JV and Varsity team, competed at Agoura High School this past Saturday. I'm glad to announce that our Varsity Small Co-Ed placed first in their division, going against five other schools and our All Girl group stunt placed third in their division and received a qualifying bid for USA Nationals in March. Please congratulate these hard working athletes on a job well done! We have another competition scheduled in February and will be preparing for Nationals in March, which will take place in Anaheim where our team will be competing against schools from all across the nation.

ATHLETICS

Before the rains came on Sunday, we had four of our Lady Vikings compete in their first tennis tournament at Pierpont Racquet Club in Ventura. Rosalinda Lopez, Veronica Vasquez, Maria Espinoza and Alondra Rojas, all 9th graders played and represented the Vikings with pride. Alondra Rojas made it to the finals and came up just short finishing in 2nd place. Please show this fantastic groups of girls some love when you see them around campus and in your classrooms.

Please congratulate Varsity Boys' Soccer for their 14th consecutive win. The Vikings defeated Pacifica yesterday to take sole possession of 1st place in PVL. We resume our journey at home tomorrow against Rio Mesa. You know how you've been meaning to catch a game but it's been cold and rainy? Tomorrow would be a good day to take a break from grading and come out and support our boys.
