Important Safety Information Please read this manual and follow all instructions before using the AirClimber®Xpress System for the first time. Save this manual and ensure that other exercisers read this manual prior to using the AirClimber Xpress.

WARNING

The AirClimber®Xpress System can be a very challenging fitness program, and is not suitable for everyone. Consult your physician before beginning this or any exercise or diet program, especially if you have concerns about your physical fitness level and overall suitability for exercising with the AirClimber®Xpress System. This is especially important if you are over the age of 35, have not been exercising, are pregnant, or have a history of knee, shoulder or spinal (back or neck) problems or any other medical condition that may be compromised by an extreme fitness program. If you experience any pain or tightness in your chest, irregular heartbeat and shortness of breath, faintness, or unusual discomfort during any workout, stop at once and consult a physician before continuing. Always use common sense when exercising. Know your limits and train within them. If you have any questions regarding this product or its exercise program, please see your physician and follow his or her recommendations when developing your own personal fitness program.

Maximum user weight limit is 250 lbs.

1. KEEP THE AirClimber Xpress OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN and PETS. Severe injury can result if fingers or body parts are placed under foot pedals or the base of the AirClimber Xpress during use. Keep children and pets away from the AirClimber Xpress and Optional X-Cords both during use, as well as when the unit is left unattended. The AirClimber Xpress is not a toy. If you have children, it’s your responsibility to ensure that they do not place any part of their body under the unit while you are exercising.

2. ONLY USE THE AirClimber Xpress ON A FLAT, STABLE SURFACE. Do not use the AirClimber Xpress on a small area rug that may move during the workout. If your floor is uneven, place the AirClimber Xpress on a carpeted floor or rubber mat.

3. DO NOT USE THE AirClimber Xpress WITH THE BELLOWS FACING AWAY FROM YOU. Position the unit so that the bellows and dial are in front of you.

4. ALWAYS USE CAUTION WHEN GETTING ON OR OFF THE AIRCLIMBER XPRESS. Always get on and off the unit from the rear. Until you are comfortable exercising while balancing yourself on the AirClimber Xpress, place the unit behind or beside a solid chair or kitchen counter and hold on to it when getting on or off and during the workout. An alternative is to place the AirClimber Xpress in an open doorway and hold onto the doorframe during use. For more information, please refer to the Section, “Getting On and Off the AirClimber Xpress” on page 9.

5. ONLY INFLATE THE BELLOWS WHEN THEY ARE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE. If the AirClimber Xpress has been stored or shipped in cold weather, allow the unit to warm to room temperature before inflating the bellows fully. Please refer to the Section, “Inflating the Bellows” for detailed information.

6. ALWAYS ADD AIR TO THE BELLOWS BEFORE STARTING A WORKOUT. The AirClimber Xpress bellows need to have ample air to work properly. If at anytime the bellows require air, stop exercising, press and hold down the dial and add air. Stepping on bellows without sufficient air will damage the bellows and void the warranty.

7. CHOOSE AN APPROPRIATE RESISTANCE LEVEL FOR YOUR FITNESS LEVEL. The AirClimber Xpress offers adjustable step resistance. Always choose the proper resistance level on the dial, which suits your physical strength, flexibility, fitness level and goals. Setting #1 is designed for fast, easy stepping as well as for exercisers that weigh between 90 -180 lbs. If you are over 180 lbs. you may want to start on resistance level #2. Additionally, as your legs become stronger or if you desire a more demanding workout, gradually increase the resistance by turning the dial to the right. Only select a higher resistance when you know your body and legs will be able to handle the additional workload.

8. DO NOT USE THE AirClimber Xpress IT IS DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. Inspect the unit before each use. Failure to observe this warning could result in personal injury while exercising.

9. USE ONLY ACCESSORIES AND ATTACHMENTS RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER. Use of any other attachments or accessories is not recommended by the manufacturer and will void the warranty and possibly cause serious personal injury or damage to you and the unit.

Inflating the AirClimber Xpress’ BellowsAlways inflate the AirClimber Xpress’ bellows prior to use.

The bellows must have ample air to work properly. Using the AirClimber Xpress without sufficient air in the bellows could damage the bellows and void the war-ranty. The bellows are designed to be flexible at normal room temperature. Only inflate the bellows when the AirClimber Xpress is at room temperature. Do not attempt to warm the unit by placing it near a heat source, nor leave the AirClimber Xpress in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.

Step 1:Position the AirClimber Xpress with bellows and resistance dial facing you (See Photo 4).

Step 2: With the AirClimber Xpress at room temperature, inflate the bellows by gently pressing down on the top of the dial (See Photo 4) or with the toe of one of your exercise shoes (See Photo 5). Pressing and holding the dial down opens the air-valve located underneath the dial and allows air to enter or exit the bellows.

While pressing and holding the dial down, gently grab the rear of both pedals (See Photo 6) and slowly pull the pedals up to fill the bellows with air. Once you have pulled the pedals up an inch or two, release the dial to lock air in the bellows by rolling the toe of your shoe off the dial (Photo 7). If the bellows have been compressed for shipping or storage, the pedals should rise about 2-3 inches when fully inflated and will be nearly level from front to back.

Do not pull up hard on the pedals as this could disconnect the bellows. Slowly pull the pedals up an inch or two at a time. If a bellow disconnects from the pedal simply reattach the bellows into the slot underneath the pedal (Photo 8). This will not affect further use of the AirClimber Xpress.

If your AirClimber Xpress was stored or shipped to you in cold weather or if the bellows have been compressed for an extended period (such as during initial shipping), It’s likely the bellows may not fully inflate until the bellows are warm and have been used for a few minutes.

To fully inflate cold or compressed bellows, please use the following technique.

•AllowtheAirClimberXpresstowarmtoroomtemperature.Normalroomtemperatureissufficienttowarmtheunittooperatingtemperature.

•Followtheinstructionsin“Steps1&2”abovetoinitiallyinflatethebellows.ThengetontheAirClimberXpress(ifyouareunfamiliarwithhowto exercise on the AirClimber Xpress, first refer to the correct procedure for “Getting On and Off the AirClimber Xpress” on page 9) and step at a slow to medium pace for about 3 to 5 minutes. This will warm up the bellows making them pliable.

•Next,stepofftheAirClimberXpressandwithyourfingersorfrontofyourexerciseshoegentlypressandholddowntheresistancedial.

•Gentlyandslowlypullupontherearofoneorbothpedals.Onceyouhavepulledthepedalsupanextrainchortwofromit’soriginalposition, release the dial to lock air in the bellows. The bellows should now be fully extended, however, it’s possible that it may take a workout to make the bellows fully flexible if the unit has been compressed for a long period of time.

If you detach a pedal from a bellow, simply slide the top of the bellow back into the tabs underneath the pedal. This will not affect your unit from working properly in the future.

Pedal resistance is adjusted by turning the dial located on the base between the two pedals. When the dial is set to position #1 on the left, resistance is light and stepping is fast and easy. Turning the dial to the right restricts air-flow between the bellows which increases pedal resistance.

Position #1 is a good starting position for beginners, since it provides the easiest intensity level. If you’re above 180 lbs., you may want to start stepping at #2.

Getting On And Off The AirClimber Xpress To Get on Your AirClimber XpressUsing the AirClimber Xpress without support requires balance. If you are using the AirClimber Xpress for the first time, it’s strongly recommend that you position your AirClimber Xpress behind or beside a solid chair, counter-top or table and hold onto this support when getting on and off the AirClimber Xpress and during the workout. An alternative is to position the AirClimber Xpress in an open doorway and hold onto each side of the doorframe. Continue to use this support until you able to comfortably maintain your balance without support.

Be aware that the AirClimber Xpress base may shift or move slightly during a vigorous workout. Avoid using the AirClimber Xpress on a slippery floor. There are soft rubber feet under the unit, however it’s recommended that you place a rubber exercise floor mat or a large portion of non-slip carpet underneath your AirClimber Xpress. This help’s protect your floor from any damage due to prolonged, extensive use of the AirClimber Xpress.

Step 1:Place the AirClimber Xpress on a flat, stable surface (See Photo 9). Do not use the AirClimber Xpress on a small area rug that may move during the workout. If your floor is uneven, place the AirClimber Xpress on a carpeted floor or rubber mat.

Step 2:Inflate the bellows with air (refer to the previous Section, “Inflating the Bellows”). Position the AirClimber Xpress with the bellows and dial facing you. As you step onto the AirClimber Xpress’s pedals the dial will be behind you and the bellows directly under your heels.

As you become fitter and stronger, turn the dial to the right to increases pedal resistance for a slower, more difficult workout that raises the heart rate and strengthens the legs at the same time. Position #3 provides for the greatest amount of resistance to help you burn fat while firming and defining your entire leg.

Note: Always return the Resistance Dial to Position #1 after your workout.

DO NOT USE THE AirClimber Xpress FACING BACKWARDS AT ANYTIME.

Step 3: While balancing yourself or holding onto a chair or doorframe, place one foot towards the front and in the middle of the pedal and step on the pedal, allowing it to depress as far as possible (See Photo 10). MakesureyourfootisNOTneartheedgeofthepedal. Then, when you are steady and balanced, hold onto your support and place your other foot on the second Pedal and step up so that you are now standing on both pedals evenly (See Photo 11). Begin to start stepping slowly while slightly leaning from side to side, pressing down through your feet, alternating one step at a time.

Step 4: Keep stepping SLOWLY as you gain both balance and confidence with the AirClimber Xpress’ movement. Keep your knees slightly bent with your feet parallel and centered on the foot pedals at all times. Do not lift your feet off the pedals.

If your foot moves near the edge of a pedal during your workout, stop and reposition your foot, then go again.

When you have completed your exercise routine step back off your AirClimber Xpress carefully, one foot at a time. Look down to ensure that you aren’t stepping on anything on the floor.

Know your limits and train within them. Always use common sense when exercising. If you have any questions regarding the AirClimber Xpress or its exercise or diet program, please see your physician.

DETERMINING YOUR HEART RATE

Periodically monitoring your heart rate while you exercise is a good way to know if you’re getting fat-burning and cardio training benefits. You can use either a portable heart rate monitor or take your pulse for 10 seconds using the heart rate charts on page 11.

To take your pulse, find either your main artery in your wrist or the carotid artery in your neck and press lightly with your index and third fingers for 10 seconds immediately after you stop exercising, just before your heart rate starts to fall. Count the number of beats and compare it to the target on the chart you’ve chosen on page 11.
