About

After working at Pentagram as a project coordinator for 11 years, Suzanne moved with James Biber to the newly formed studio, Biber Architects.

Suzanne has worked for clients in the residential, commercial and retail markets, as well as a variety of educational, cultural and historical institutions within the US.

Some of the clients that Suzanne has worked with over the last 12 years are the NYC Department of Design and Construction, The James Beard Foundation, Harley-Davidson Museum, Muzak, The Library of Congress, the Arizona Cardinals, The Macaulay Honors College CUNY, retail stores for Intimacy Inc., The Edward M. Kennedy Institute, The Koch Institute, The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and multiple residences within the United States.

Prior to joining Pentagram, Suzanne worked as a studio manager for Christine Van Der Hurd, Inc, a custom design studio of carpets and textiles with offices in New York and London. Responsibilities included sales within the A & D community, liaison between manufacturer and studio, administration and management.

Her first professional position upon arriving in the US was that of an event planner for George Little Management, Inc., trade show managers of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), The International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show (IHM&RS), SURTEX and The New York International Gift Fair.

Working with See Change NYC, a mayoral initiative, Biber Architects redesigned the waiting rooms of the Department of Probation, creating Resource Hubs for probationers. The Resource Hubs signal an on-going change within City departments, helping to change the point of contact for New Yorkers in need of critical services.

- Managed selection of all furniture and finishes for the first six sites.- Coordinated the placing of orders with the city’s purchasing department.- Supervised the installation of graphics and worked with city employees to implement the new program.- Arranged and managed photo shoots for both the architect and press.

JBF Ltd was a pop-up restaurant designed for the James Beard Foundation located in the Chelsea Market, NYC. The restaurant was open for only five weeks, to demonstrate the urgency of stopping by for lunch or dinner, a count down calendar was created for both the tables and the front windows of the restaurant. At the end of each day the chef would spray paint an X over that day on the table and window.

- Managed the selection of all furniture and signage within the restaurant.- Coordinated the critical timing of client and contractor needs.

The design parameter was simple, create a pair of oceanfront houses that capitalize and utilize a large, private, outdoor space on the Atlantic Ocean.

- Managed the selection of all fabric, furniture and finishes of both the main house and guest house.- Coordinated the critical timing of multiple client, vendor, contractor and architectural needs.- Arranged and managed photo shoots for both the architect and press.- Processed all billing for the client, and produced detailed monthly status reports for each area of the project.

Built in 1959, this home was renovated in 2007. The end result was a mid-century house redesigned for twenty-first century living.

An extensive restoration and renovation of a home designed in the 1930’s by Richard Neutra.

Store design for Intimacy, a chain of bra fit specialist stores located in upscale shopping malls around the country. Unlike traditional stores, at Intimacy, appointments are made in advance. In the privacy of large tastefully furnished fitting rooms, a bra fit specialist works with the customer to find the proper fit and style.

- Managed the sourcing and selection of all the fabrics, furniture and finishes of the store.- Coordinated the production of store fixtures and illuminated fitting rooms.- Arranged and managed photo shoot.

Pentagram designed an interiors program that encompassed a retail store, locker rooms, club lounges, corporate lofts, team offices, and the owner’s private suite.

- Managed the selection of all the fabrics, furniture and finishes of the Owner’s Suite, Corporate Suites, public lounge areas and lockers rooms.- Coordinated the client move-in with the architect, contractor and vendors.
