Back hereClimate Variability and Change is a
Maritimes Science priority (Strategic Plan 2009-13)
Develop a regional “climate variability and change program” that coordinates relevant branch activities (e.g. from the Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program (AZMP), Arctic monitoring, COMDA, CCSI, GOMA-ERI, Updates of climate change reports).
How are we doing so far?
• Zonally, working to improve coordination and reporting of monitoring programs
• Maintain Arctic monitoring in Barrow strait• Update of Wright and Frank reports on track
GoMA-ERIClimate component
CCSI
COMDA IGS
How do we move this to policy / management?
• Legacy data products for scientists and clients• Involvement in specific advisory processes, e.g.
herring, haddock• RAP synthesis: framework for combining
individual assessments, incorporating oceanographic information and assessing cumulative effects (Ross Claytor lead)
• Presentations to Operational groups
