The Dixboro Road Bridge Project

• “Old” bridges originally constructed 1921; widened 1969.

• Road Commission received notification from the MDOT of the Critical Bridge award in 1992.

• Preliminary corridor study initiated 1995; Environmental Assessment initiated 1997, completed 1999.

• Final design commenced 2000.

• Project bid January 2004. Low bid $9.6M, 2.2% over Engineers Estimate.
