So while some may be uncomfortable with taking about sexual health it is one area where we need to be more open and take the stigma and embarrassment away. Sexual health is more than just sex!

General Comments

• Being respectful of questions is important. It is an uncomfortable topic so we sometimes giggle (and I may get red), but trying to maintain seriousness is important.

• I encourage you to talk to your parents about further questions you might have or to go over what we talked about- car rides are good places to bring topics up.

• Monica LeBlanc is the health nurse here and Dr. Michel is also here once a month if you are more comfortable talking to them- I can get you in contact with them

• My goal as a teacher is to not force morals on you but to give you information suitable for your age so that you can make informed decisions about your body.

• Know how to take care of and recognize signs of issues and where to turn to for help.

• Navigating the emotions that go with puberty and development of our reproductive organs.

• Being able to talk about sexual choices- both abstinence and being sexually active.

• Being aware of options available to you to maintain your sexual health.
