BENCHMARK MODEL
COURSE STRUCTURE
A sequential approach is taken in the design of the programme, whereby the complexity and impact of the activities would increase over time.
This is based on the underlying principle that the experience of success in the activities at each level will spur the individual and group towards success in achieving the prescribed goals of the course.
There is a high emphasis on learning through reflection and creative expressions. Opportunities are abound for participants to express their learning through the use of natural materials and elements.
At the end of the programme, participants will be invited to put up a performance depicting the learning outcomes of their course. This encourages them to take responsibility for their learning and being accountable for their actions.
Adventure Learning This part of the course offers a
series of different outdoor activities to help the participants develop leadership skills, teamwork, planning, organisation, a sense of responsibility and compassion.
The activities include challenge ropes course, rock climbing, abseiling, white water rafting, urban orienteering, mountain trekking and improvised rafting. An important feature of the course is sessions where participants gather to share experiences and apply lessons learnt.
