First Production Format Model

� “First Production Format Model” shall mean each model of a BD-ROM Verification Product that uses the BD-ROM Format Specifications or any part thereof for the first time. (ROM FLLA)

� Example for ROM Movie Player (Test Spec):

Next Production Format Model (1/2)� “Next Production Format Model” shall mean a model that incorporates significant changes to Licensee’s previous BD-ROM Verification Product(s) of the same Licensed Category that have been successfully verified, but that does not make first-time use of any part of the BD-ROM Format specifications. (ROM FLLA)

� In particular:

� (i) for BD-ROM Media, Next Production Format Model means the first model after significant changes are made in tools or in the manufacturing process, and

� (ii) for BD-ROM Game Consoles, BD-ROM Movie Players, BD-ROM PC Drives, BD-ROM PC Application Software, BD-ROM Commercial Audiovisual Content, Next Production Format Model means the first model after significant changes are made to the Components thereof, including, but not limited to, optical pickup and/or integrated circuits and/or software modules.

Component Update Model

� “Component Update Model” shall mean a purported BD-ROM Player Model that incorporates one or more changes in Component(s) which affect the Playback Function of such model in comparison to Licensee’s previously released model(s), but that is not a First Production Format Model or Next Production Format Model.
