Dear Families, As we go through this month, all around us we see reminders of the hard won freedom and privileges we enjoy in our everyday lives. It is a great time to remem-ber and appreciate what we have and think about in what ways to give back to our families, friends and communities. Towards that goal, this month we have a fun and exciting range of activities and devotions that will engage and teach children about the value of giving and selflessness.

One big goal we've set for ourselves this month is our "Out-of-School Can Drive" where we are looking to donate 100 items of non-perishable food items to the food bank! We encourage your entire families to participate in this awesome cause, which will go towards blessing those less fortunate than ourselves. So no matter if it's big or small, any donations of dry or canned foods are greatly appreciated.

Group Daycare News

Dear P arents,October was an awesome month and we were so glad to see so many parents taking time to participate in our children’s learning experiences. We loved seeing all the parents on our field trip to the aquarium. The children had a chance to use their senses and explore the marine world. We will be reinforcing much of what we experienced in our class the next few weeks. Thanks to all the moms and dads who made it possible.

Our children love the Fun Family Phonics program immensely and are doing so well that we have been able to learn one lower and upper case letter per week. In October, we completed letter C, D, E, and F and are looking forward to doing G, H, I and J, this month. Along with the fun family phonics program, we will be very busy studying, tracing, writing, experimenting, and excitedly exploring so many new things!

Our Mandarin, library, gym classes and buddy program with grade 7 students started in October and we look forward to our music classes starting this month. Please see schedule of these classes given below.

On November 4, our kindergarten graduates: Chantal, Evelyn, Jahrey, Jesse and Olivia, will be spending the morning in the kindergarten class with Ms. Carreiro between 9:00 – 11:00am. We invite their parents to join them at the school to observe, tour and chat with our elementary principal Mrs. Peters and other BCCA families.

BCCA has their annual Scholastics book fair scheduled for next week and Kids Club families will have the opportunity to visit and purchase supplies on November 5 & 6 at pick up time between 4:00 – 6:00pm.

Our children will bring many things to share with you during the course of this year. They look forward to your excitement at their learning and need you to acknowledge, encourage and support as they build their confidence in learning and growing, -- physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. This month we hope to also hold on to October’s thanksgiving spirit as we remember the people who work hard to make our lives better!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new friends Olivia and Elizabeth and their families who joins us this month. Birthday Greetings go out to Nunahli and Elizabeth who turn 3 on the 12th and 28th!

As always, we look forward to another awesome, fun and exciting month!

God Bless!

Ms. Berenice, Ms. Danielle, Ms Josephine

Junior Kindergarten NewsI will praise the Lord all my life

Dear P arents,October has flown by once again and we can hardly believe it! Thank you to all our families who participated in our field trip to the aquarium. We were so blessed with glorious weather! All the children and adults, including the staff, enjoyed it thoroughly and have already started re-enforcing all that we enjoyed, in our circles and class activities. The children have definitely settled into their routines and are enjoying getting to know one another. New friendships are blossoming and the children are really enjoying each other socially. We are encouraging our children to listen to each other and use their words to express their feelings. During November, we will delve more into friendships and practicing good manners.

The Fun Family Phonics program has really taken off with a bang and the children are doing so well that we have been able to cover one lower and upper case letter per week. So, for October, we are done with C, D, E, and F already. Yay!!! We finally have the schedule for all our extra-curricular classes i.e. Music class, Library time, Gym time, Big Buddy time and Mandarin class. Please check in with us if you need any help or information.

This month we are pleased to welcome Ms. Kim Scott to our Centre. She has over 20 years’ experience as an ECE teacher and has extensive experience working with children of different developmental levels. A huge welcome also to Lucas – we are so glad to have you as part of our class. We would also like to welcome new friends who are joining us from the toddler’s program, Ryan and Maiya and returning student, Naomi! We look forward to learning and growing with you.

On November 4, our kindergarten graduates: Miguel, Daelyn, Sara, Isaiah, Mark, Naomi, Daniel, Josiah, Aaron, Isaac, Erica, Evyn, and Mattheus, will be spending the morning in the kindergarten class with Ms. Carreiro between 9:00 – 11:00am. We invite their parents to join them at the school to observe, tour and chat with our elementary principal Mrs. Peters and other BCCA families.

We are very excited to host another Scholastic Book Fair in collaboration with BCCA! Kids Club families are welcome to look at and purchase exciting new books and gifts during pick-up time next week November 2 – 6, between 12-12:30pm and on November 5 and 6 between 4- 6pm. We have our Pajama Party day on November 19, the children can wear their pajamas and slippers to school or bring a pair so that they can change when they arrive. They can also bring a pillow and a stuffed animal they like to cuddle.

November promises to be a busy month where we will not only be learning and playing, but also practicing for ourChristmas Concert on December 9th. Be sure to save that date. Everyone is so excited!

Lastly, a couple of friendly reminders! Our junior kindergarten program starts at 8:15am this year and ends at 12:30pm or 3:00pm (Mondays to Thursdays) for the extended junior kindergarten program. Infant and Toddler NewsGreater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13

Dear P arents, It is hard to believe that October is over and soon we will be into November. The weather is crisp and the rain continues to have such a refreshing smell! Praise the Lord for He is good! Our children are settling well into the school routine and are enjoying playing and learning with all their friends.

Last month, we talked about Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful time to teach all our children the meaning of Thanksgiving. We took time to be thankful for our families, friends, and all the love we give and share. We especially gave thanks to the Lord, for his goodness, and love endures forever.

Last month we also celebrated each of our beautiful children’s milestone. Our toddlers are getting the hang of their toilet-training and we are so proud to see our children picking up on words, songs and signs!

Our November: Our lesson plans for November are focused on farm animals, fruits & vegetables, and Remembrance Day. As usual, our curriculum will include lots of fun hands-on activities, games, crafts, and more!

Reminders: The weather is cold and wet outdoors, but we will still try and take our little ones for an outdoor stroll during calmer weather. Please ensure that we have ample warm spare clothing for your child. This includes, hats, scarves, socks, gloves, and extra pants!

God Bless!
