A Message from the Principal
Christ has no body on earth but ours:
No hands but ours, no feet but ours.
Ours are the eyes
Through which Christ’s compassion
Is to look upon the world.
Ours are the feet
With which he is to go about doing good.
Ours are the hands
With which he it to bless others now.
St Teresa of Avila
Mother’s Day
Prayer Liturgy and Breakfast
As is tradition at Holy Family Catholic Primary School, we will once again be having our special Prayer
Liturgy for our mums on Friday, 10th May. This is preceded by a bacon and egg breakfast which begins
from 7.30am. We try to begin the Prayer Liturgy by 8.15am so those who need to can get to work as soon
as possible. Our Transition/Year 1 class (Rm 14) will be presenting the Prayer Liturgy. As always, any
mother figures for your children are invited, for example, aunts, older sisters, grandmothers etc. Any male
family members are also more than welcome to join us.
Like the Green Tree Frog, I grow and change.
Like the Bush Bee,
I can work with others and on my own to be successful.
Like the Eagle, I see what I
need to do to achieve my
goal and take responsibility.
Like the Crocodile,
I can overcome challenges and keep
going when things get
tough.
Like the Dolphin, I am free to
develop my own ideas and take
risks.
Like the Green Ant, I use what I know and
what others know to
build meaning.
Like the Tata Lizard I can become a learning detective, searching
for answers or clues to my own or
others questions.

Mothers Day Stall
The Mother’s Day Stall will also be available from next Wednesday, 8th May before school in the ILC. It
will be set up on Friday and students will be able to view on Tuesday to see what they might like to
purchase for their mother/mother figures in their lives. Gift prices range from 50c to $14.
School Athletics Gala Evening
The School Athletics Gala Evening is very early this year due to the Darwin NT selection trials needing to
be held early. Therefore, Tuesday 7th May and Wednesday 8th May will be the field events (timetable will
be shared soon via Class Dojo) and the Gala Evening being Thursday 16th May. We will once again be
using O’Loughlin Catholic College’s oval for the running events and our hard working P&F will be
providing food and drinks. It is always a wonderful evening and hope to see you all there.
ELC Open Day
With our ELC upgrade complete, we will be holding a special Open Day on Saturday, 18th of May from
9.00am – 11.00am. We welcome any current families to join in the fun which will include jumping
castle, face painting and other fun activities. If you know of anyone else who is considering care for their
young children, encourage them to come along. Flyers will be going out to local neighbourhoods in the
next week or two.
God Bless
