A great journey begins with a single step.
It is pleasure to share that DPS East Ahmedabad has given 2 batches of Class XII. These students have
joined various prestigious universities to pursue the courses and programs of their choice. We firmly
believe that school should be the experience of a life time. Our school experience sets the stage for
success in life and provides a bouquet of positive memories for our students. They only rejuvenates
and fills them with positivity when they recollect. Academic excellence with character and personality
development is our ultimate goal. The well framed academic and co-curricular programme enables the
students to attain their full potential to develop sound work habits. The academic work is centred on
highly personalised attention and supervision.
However, in today's time which is witnessing unprecedented changes; calls for more sensitivity on the
part of parents and school. Somewhere, I am skeptical, whether existing system is taking children into
right direction. Children, in general are losing core human values, courtesy and generosity. They have
to be told that a small 'Thank You' and 'Sorry' have immense value in human relations. Also, over
pampering and spoon feeding is making children the slave of superfluous comforts which are not our
actual needs. Though beginning with small, but they need to be left on their own to solve problems. Let
them develop a fighter spirit from inception.
Simultaneously, children need to listen to their parents, teachers and elders. They need to appreciate
that all that society is doing for them, is for their future. They need to be wise in using their knowledge
and learning from past. When we do not learn from mistakes of history, it repeats. They need to stay
connected to their roots; as plant can only grow, when it is firmly grounded. For example, increasing
number of old age homes is not showing good sign! The current generation needs to surely ponder
upon this.
At the same time, teachers have to play a vital role as ever. They are just second parents at school for
the children. Once this feeling is developed, only then the children will reciprocate. Children comes to
us as blank canvas. Its all about how we paint their future. Our country has rich legacy of great students
and teachers. It only says that our soil has given gems and still it keeps on giving. Our shoulders have
to be just strong enough to carry it forward. We owe it to future.
All the best for new academic session!
