The Last Available Site for Such a Purpose in Narberth is Now on thelMarket.Shall the Community Secure It for Its Own or Shall It Be Allowed to 00for Commercial or Other Depreciating Enterprises? The Answer Must Be Made Now.Here Are the Facts of the Case:SITE: Nearly 6 Acres between Windsor and Haverford Avenues, ending,at Wynnewood Avenue, now owned by Pennsylvania R. R. Co.PRICE: $30,000, a figure which it is said private factors are willing topay.OFFICIAL CONDITIONS: Borough cannot take immediate action officiallyon account of present obligations and also because Bond Issue involved can=not be approved by Electorate for at least one year. Ayear might be toolate-it unquestionably would be-therefore-
A HOLDING COMPANY TO BRIDGE THE GAPIt is proposed that a Company shall be formed of Narberth Citizens whoshall provide on a Stock or Bond Basis for the Equity Money necessary to gettitle to this Property now, as no binding options can be had. Will you co=oper=ate along these lines?
i -A deposit of $100 shall be made for each share of s tockor bond.2-The subscribers shall obligate themselves to hold the plotsubject to its pnrch".se by th e Borough fo r a pe riod of 3 years,
the price to be paid by the Boroug'h to represent cost, which shallinclude the amount invested, plus interes t, plus whatever carrying charges have been incurred.3 - I f the Borough fai ls to exercise its opt ion within 3 years ,the Association can sell the property on its own account, in whichcase a tidy profi t should accrue to each man who co-op: :rates inthi s enterpr is e. Therefore , you are assu!'ed of a handsome reward irrespective of what turn events take-(A) Eithe r by the incalculable benefit you bestow on theentire community, particularly its youth, together with the enhanced value which is assured every property in the Borough, including your own, 01 ' -(B) Vou will share in the excellent money profits which arealtogether probable if the ground were used for a private venture.
As this outline is prepared, $22,500 has been subscribed as the result of avery casual and limited canvass. Not one man has rejected the idea nor the request for his co=operation.Remember, you are not asked to give the money away-nor to lend H You are asked to invest i t-at interest-in a fine piece of Main Line prop=erty-Situated in your own Home Town, right under your very eye-In a location where by the very nature of things the value must con=stantly increase. Therefore, confirm the amount which you ought to subscribeArrange so that Narberth will assure its future-That its children shall have all the facilities other communities affordand which no community should be without-That healthful, clean athletics shall be provided for-That our Borough shall have a Recreation Centre and a Village Green avail=able to all its residents-That encroachment of any and all undesirable features shall be positively
precluded. That we shall not lose the last oPP,ortunity which is available to us to dothat which has been so long desired.Do not wait to be asked. Do not let delay spoil nor mar the fine spirit ofthe occasion!
