Our Sunday Worship begins at 11:00 am
Sunday School for youth and children begins with the worship service.
The church office is (usually) open Monday through Thursday 9-2.
Dear Saints and Friends of the First Presbyterian Church of Medina, In last month’s newsletter, I shared with you about my (then) upcoming knee surgery. As I write this, I am three weeks on the “other side” of that surgery which took place April 4th.
The surgery went well. My recovery has also been progressing well. However, I still have several weeks to go before I wilI be able to resume full-time ministry activities.
My mind says I should be able to just get back into the swing of things right now, but my body tells me that I’m not ready yet. It’s amazing how the pace of healing seems so different when you’re experiencing it personally, as opposed to observing it occur in someone else. I am reminded of the (tongue-in-cheek) prayer: “God grant me patience – and I want it now!”
God has been good to me during this time of surgery and convalescence, despite my impatience. I claim the promise that God has made which we find in Isaiah: “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint,” (Isaiah 40:31, NRSV). God is actively bringing that promise to fruition in my life.
And you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, have been good to me, also. I have been so encouraged and strengthened by your prayers, your cards, your words of support and encouragement. Knowing that many of you have had similar experiences like I am now having, I have been able to see by your example how you have renewed your strength, and that in turn, has also inspired and encouraged me. I thank you all.
May God add His blessing to all you do for Christ and for those whom He loves. Yours in Christ’s love and service,
Rev. Ron Sumption

PALM SUNDAY BLESSINGS
Many thanks to Donna Johnson, Tina
Oosterling and Dave Schwert who ar-
rived early to prepare the palm branches
for distribution. And thanks also to the
Sarah Martin and Alissa Dunham for
folding the extra branches into crosses
for us to take home or to deliver to
those unable to attend the service.
DEACONS DO. . .
. . . a fabulous job of making each holiday
celebration special! Easter Sunday they served break-
fast before the worship service, offering a variety of
homemade egg casseroles, sweet rolls, juice and cof-
fee/tea. The dining tables were decorated with brightly
colored napkins, Easter grass, eggs and candy for a
festive touch.
Upstairs in the sanctuary,
deacons used spring flowers to decorate
the chancel. The flowers were donated
by members of the congregation in mem-
ory or in honor of loved ones.

The Presbyterian church was the last stop on the Cross
Walk through Medina. After the cross was set in place,
Lynne Ambrose read the final message, a black swag was
placed on the
cross, and a
Roman
Centurion knelt
in prayer.
On Easter Sunday
Lynne put a white
swag in place
signifying that
HE IS RISEN!
