● Alineando objetos (Separando y clasificando).
diferentes. Por ejemplo, caminando para atrás, saltando alternando
los pies, brincando con pies juntos, etc.
Math:
● Practice counting from 1 to 50 with your child.
● Lining It Up (sorting and classifying). Place a collection of
objects (such as toys, silverware, sticks, etc) on the floor and
invite your child to explore the items. Show your child how to
line up the objects according to size.

Explain that you would like the objects to be arranged in
different ways, e.g., smallest to largest or longest to shortest.
Prompt your child to arrange the objects by size.
Let the children order the objects and explain how he/she
arrange the objects.
Encourage your child to use the math vocabulary: long, short,
lengths, heights, etc., of the objects. Help your child place the
objects in different orders based on size, length, weight, area,
or volume.
Literacy: Letter Dd:
Walk a Letter
Explain that together, you will be forming letters and walking on
them. Form a large version of letter “D” upper case and “d” lower
case on the floor using masking tape. You can also form letters on
your child’s name. Name the letters and talk about their features.
For instance, this one has a straight line and a curvy line. Encourage
your child to move in challenging ways. For example, walking
backwards, hopping, skipping, etc.

espacios.
Read or listen to a book with a family member
Differentiating Letters from Words
The purpose of letters is to form words. Here we have the word
“cat”. There are three letters in this word.
Explain: We have many words in books. Words are made of letters. If
I write my name, the letters have to be together, like walking and
holding hands together. If I put letters of my name, one above, and
one below or in a different order then it will not be my name. We use
spaces to separate words. There are short words like “a” and long
words like “insects”
We use uppercase letters at the beginning of a sentence. We also
use uppercase letters to write important words, like our names.
While reading:
● Count the words in each sentence of the page you are
reading.
● Identify the letters your child knows. For example, letter D or d.
● Compare letters from words.
![Page 11: Our Study: Insectshurley.cps.edu › uploads › 1 › 1 › 5 › 4 › 115487233 › remote_learning_… · Our Study: Insects . Actividades Día 1/ Day 1 Activities Lectura (15](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022060415/5f132395385afb72f66919d2/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
● Choose a word and count the letters in that word.
● Find uppercase letters and lowercase letters in a page.

For this activity, you will need containers with their lids.
Separate the containers from their lids, and place them in two
groups on a large table or the floor. Invite your child to
explore the containers and lids before beginning the activity.
Explain that their job will be to find the correct lid for each
container by matching its size and shape from each
container.
Lead a discussion about the best way to begin matching the
lids. Invite the children to line up the containers from shortest
to tallest, or smallest to largest.
"If we lined up the containers, it might make it easier for us to
find the right lid."
"Do you think it would help if we lined up the lids as well?"
Invite the child to match three to five lids and containers.
Prompt the child to describe the shapes and sizes of the
containers he or she sees.
Literacy:
● Make some upper case and lower case letters cards. You can
use the letters in your child’s name or the letters your child
needs to practice. Make sure you have a card for the letters D

Mezclando colores primarios para hacer colores secundarios:
Materiales:
Póngalos a congelar.

our own life. Making connections help us remember information to
be able to answer questions about the story we are reading.
Today we are going to relate our own experiences when we are
reading or looking at the pictures. This story reminds of a time
when…
