• Claire Haverkampf, RN, and husband Stan, founded Marklund in 1954 in their Northlake home when began caring for newborn Mark William Lund

• Opened Marklund Children’s Home in Bloomingdale in 1957 as number of clients needing care continued to grow

• Opened Marklund Day School in 1991

• Opened 20-acre Marklund at Mill Creek campus in Geneva in 2002 with four homes; 2 more added in 2006

Marklund Children’s Home First Skilled Pediatric facility of its kind in Illinois 21-Bed (23,000 sf) Facility serving full-time

residential clients 24-Hour Nursing Care, Therapy, Developmental

Marklund Day School State Board of Education Licensed Therapeutic

Day Program Partners with area school districts to serve

children with multi-needs, and learning, emotional and developmental disabilities

Life Skills Academy program specializes in curriculum and occupational activities for those diagnosed on Autism spectrum
