OUR SCHOOL RULES
BE SAFE BE RESPECTFUL
BE A PROBLEM SOLVER BE A LEARNER
Principal’s Report Open Day for Education Week Last Tuesday we held our Open Day. Thank you to all the families who attended. We had more than 250 people attend the classroom visits, picnic and performances. It was again another example of the great work happening each day in our school. Congratulations to our students, staff and the Education Week Committee led by Ms Scelzi. Permission to Publish Our school has many special activities and events and it is exciting for the students, staff and community to see photos of these around the school, in the newsletter or on our website. We are currently updating our records and next week you will be receiving a letter to sign giving the school permission to photograph your child/children and use them in published material. If children do not have a signed note granting permission to be photographed and published, those children will need to be removed from activities being filmed or photographed. This is unfortunate as all children love having their photos used in school publications, newsletter and the school website. Arrival at school on time As you are aware all students need to be at school before 9am and are supervised on the playground after 8.30am. Children are still arriving later and often it is because parents/carers are late delivering them to school. When children arrive after the 9am bell they need to present to the front office to get a late note. All lateness is documented and if they occur on a regular basis, parents/carers may need to have a meeting at the school with a representative from the Department of Education and the school. Parents/carers please give yourself ample time to get your child/children to school on time. Parking Parking on school premises is only permitted to staff. Parents/carers must not park in the school car park. Please take into consideration when parking on the street to avoid double parking and blocking driveways. When we all work together we achieve great things. Rene Demos Principal

Tree Day A big thank you to the parents, grandparents and younger siblings who helped plant our new citrus trees on Open Day last Tuesday. We hope to enjoy the fruits of their labour sometime in the near future!
On Wednesday, students planted some colourful pansies in class groups for Schools Tree Day. All involved had a lot of fun and showed a new enthusiasm for gardening.
NAPLAN SCHOOL READINESS TEST
In week 8 our school will be taking part in the NAPLAN School Readiness test. This test is a ‘practice run’ and provides an opportunity for schools to become familiar with the NAPLAN Online assessment platform and to identify any technical or administrative issues they may have. The school readiness test:
• Is not an assessment of student ability and it will not be marked.
• Has been designed to allow schools and students to freely navigate through the online test environment and to explore the format and presentation of questions.
• Allows schools to develop and put into practice their classroom procedures, which will provide an indication of any changes that need to be made before NAPLAN moves online.
• Involves all NSW schools who have passed the technical readiness survey.

Feature class is……2T
This term, in geography, 2T has been learning about natural
and man-made materials. We created a sand timer showing
the difference between natural and man-made materials.
This term, 2T has taken maths to a whole fun and exciting level by creating symmetrical images and patterns using blocks and
rulers.
