The world is at a juncture where there is dire need for each individual to be aware of the

latest developments taking place at the global fronted be the active participant in it. A

modern child today has access to the ultra-modern gadgets, he is well informed and much

more advanced than his predecessors. To prepare him for the platform of modernity, it is

incumbent upon three people with whom he shares his maximum valuable time. And they

are - the child’s mother, the father and the teacher. ‘’ This triangle indeed is the real role

model for him” was the reply given by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, to a question raised by a child.

We, at Magnus, believe that schools are living organizations that continuously influence lives

of students. Therefore, it is our sincere endeavour to understand the needs of the students,

There’s one very important aspect of the long hour facility in Magnus. In our small way, we

teach our children the importance of making an emotional connect at the dining table. With

the disappearance of the joint family system, young students are unaware of the pleasures

of celebrating each meal savoured together. It really is not about the food we eat, it’s about

the fun times we have sharing meals with our friends and teachers.

Celebrations and Competitions in the previous months

On 27th April, we had our handwriting competition. Each student participated and tried to display their best hand

writing.

Our school celebrated the birth anniversary of

Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore with fervour, zeal

and enthusiasm. The celebration started by the little

ones and then all together by putting up a cultural

programme based on Tagore’s composition.

Our pre-primary kids celebrated Mother’s day on 11th

May, to honour the eternal motherhood. All the

mothers were invited to spend the school hours with

their children by participating in different fun

activities.

Spell-Bee and Word competition were held respectively on 4th May and 29th June. These competitions provide a great

way for students to learn new words and their spellings.

Green day was celebrated on 20th July. Children from preprimary section planted saplings and celebrated the colour

green. On 27th July, these tiny tots took part actively in Rhymes and Recitation competition.

Our kids took part in the music competition held on 27th July. The objective was to scout young talent and give them

encouragement.

The students of Magnus celebrated the bond of friendship on August 3rd, 2018. The students were made aware of the importance of friends in life. A Little Tree

One day, I found in a spot Not so far from the sea I thank you so much, my God A lovely, wonderful tree. Its fruits, I started eating. They were filled with love, And I could not help but think, That I would never get enough. One of the seeds of the fruit, I have planted in my soul And now it’s a pleasure to look, And watch a little tree grow.

Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is located in the Western part of North Atlantic Ocean between Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. It is also known as Devil’s Triangle. Fearful and mysterious incidents continue to happen in that area. Dozens of ships and airplanes have disappeared here. Unexplained circumstances surround some of these accidents. On July 10, 1945, Thomas Arthur Garner along with eleven crew members was lost at sea in a US navy seaplane. On December5, 1945, Flight 19 lost with 14 airmen, and later the same day PBM Mariner was lost with 13 airmen. Scientists have found large deposit of methane hydrates (a form of the natural gas) on the continental shelves. Laboratory experiments carried out in Australia have proven that bubbles can, indeed, sink a scale model ship by decreasing the density of water; any wreckage consequently rising to the surface would be rapidly dispersed by the Gulf Stream. It has been believed that periodic methane eruptions or mud volcanoes may produce regions of frothy water that are no longer capable of providing enough buoyancy for ships. In that case, such an area forming around a ship could cause a ship to sink very quickly and without warning. -Debayan Banerjee Class IV

The Importance of Trees Trees are the friends of human beings. From the earlier age till today they give us so many things which are very useful to us. Trees play a vital

role if purifying air. They are also the lungs of the earth because they take in carbon dioxide and gives out oxygen which is used by human beings

and animals to breathe. Trees also help to increase rainfall. Growing trees take water from the soil and release it into the atmosphere. That

means trees are also important for rain. We also eat fruits of trees which are good for our health. We get flowers which are again used in many

different ways. Besides we get so many of things like Gum, wood, medicines etc. They help to keep the soil moist using their roots and also

prevent soil erosion. Forests help to keep the environment cool. Forests are also the home of many birds and animals. Trees are the longest and

largest living organisms of the earth. We are cutting trees for building flats and factories and so many other reasons. For this our environment

is getting polluted and soil erosion is increasing. The size desserts are getting bigger. The rainfall is also recusing. We do not know that we are

harming ourselves. We have to remember that one tree one life. I hope one day we all will understand this.

Science and Technology Our present age is the age of technology. We use science and technology in our day to day life. The alarm of table clock helps to rise in the morning. We clean our teeth with toothbrush and paste. We prepare the food by toaster, micro oven or gas stove. Then we go to school by bus which is a contribution of invention of wheel. We watch television, listen radio or DVD player. The latest invention that hanged our life is computer and mobile which helps us to communicate with the world to share knowledge and resource. The mobile is the most indispensable thing in our modern life. The technology increases its power by every six months. We cannot live without technology. The technology makes our life easier but it makes us lazy too. The future world will be dominated by computerized robots. So, we have to use the technologies for mankind. Though, our future generation must feel the fruitfulness of science.

Which has no End

Many years ago, a girl lived in Dehradun. Her name was Tina. She was very lazy and couldn’t do any work by her own. She always ordered someone to do her work. One day when her father saw that she was lying on the bed, her father told her, “If you always be a lazy girl, you will never do any work by your own because your mother and I will not always be with you.” After that Tina felt sad and she wept all day. Next day when she was roaming in her garden, she saw a small sparrow was crying. Tina saw that her leg was fractured. Tina wanted to speak to the sparrow but she couldn’t because birds can never talk in human language. Tina picked up the sparrow and she took care of it till the sparrow’s leg was fine. But in her mind there was a question as to why the sparrow could not talk. She hoped to invent a machine which would help birds to talk. As time passed, Tina remained a lazy girl and she never studied properly. She had problems in her life. She could not get admission in any college or a school. So, she requested her father to buy some books and start giving her education by himself. When Tina was 25 years of age, she invented a machine called “Toto Talk”. But by mistake some fault was there in the machine. When she made the bird wear the machine, it burst and the bird died. After that, she began to make another machine which would not have any fault. She rectified her mistake and received her education from her life, not only from books.

Tension, Tension And

Tension Children have tension,

Before their examination. Father have tension,

Before their child’s admission. Mothers have tension,

For tasty dish preparation. Ministers have tension,

For public administration. Police has tension,

To control a congregation But nature has no tension,

Where there is more population. How widespread is this tension? It has become today’s fashion.

It can only be dealt with, The power of meditation.
