Message from Pastor James A year and a half ago, we came together to search God’s Word and join in prayer together as we thought about the future of our congregation. If you’ll recall, our 5-year push was to “be known throughout the community as a church that proclaims and demon-strates the love of Jesus through words and actions.” Part of that included a large discipleship push (developing spiritual maturity). Our theme last year was “Rooted in Love” – drawing from Ephesians 3:17. As we jump into our second year, I invite you to join me in “Growing in Christ”. St. Paul paints this image for us just one chapter later in Ephesians: “…we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (4:15). You can probably guess where next year will take us, as God’s people
produce the Fruit of the Spirit throughout the commu-nity we live in. So we’re working with the image of a plant. Deeply rooted in the ground, it grows strong, with a specific purpose designed for it by its Creator. Next month and beyond, we’ll unpack more of what it looks like to grow in Christ. Until then, I pray that God would begin to instill into the hearts of every single person in our congregation, a deeper longing to know Him and His grace even more. God’s love is an endless wellspring. There will always be more to learn of our infinite and almighty God! May He draw us ever closer, together. It’s all about Jesus. Pastor James
