SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION
Invitation
Leader: Christ our Lord invites to His table all who love Him, who earnestly repent of
their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess
our sin before God and one another.
Confession And Pardon
People: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved You with our
whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not
done Your will, we have broken Your law, we have rebelled against
Your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard
the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful
obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Leader to People: Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet
sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ,
you are forgiven!
People to Leader: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Leader and People: Glory to God. Amen.
The Great Thanksgiving
Leader: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you. Leader: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up to the Lord. Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right to give our thanks and praise. Leader: It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give
thanks to You, Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. And so,
with Your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise
Your name and join their unending hymn:
People: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth
are full of Your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who
comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Leader: And so, in remembrance of these Your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we
offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in
union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
People: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is
the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Hymn Of Invitation ”The Gift Of Love” UMH # 408
Benediction & Postlude
Scripture Reading:
Deuteronomy 6:5
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your being, and all your
strength.
Matthew 22:36-40 36 “Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He replied, “You
must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your
mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: You
must love your neighbor as you love yourself. 40All the Law and the Prophets depend
on these two commands.”
Romans 13:8-14 8 Don’t be in debt to anyone, except for the obligation to love each other. Whoever
loves another person has fulfilled the Law. 9 The commandments, Don’t commit
adultery, don’t murder, don’t steal, don’t desire what others have, and any other com-
mandments, are all summed up in one word: You must love your neighbor as your-
self. 10 Love doesn’t do anything wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is what fulfills
the Law.
Prayer For The Surface Transportation Board
Lord, we your people, who are called by your name,
humble ourselves and pray and seek your face,
believing you will hear our prayers and come down from heaven
and deliver our church from the current situation with the railroad.
Thank you for the faithfulness, time and labor our task force has
devoted to this difficult situation. Thank you for every miracle you have
given us since beginning this walk. We will not grow weary
or give up this battle, but we will stay the course.
Please grant us favor with the service transportation board.
We continue to wait with hope, excitement and expectation to
celebrate complete deliverance for our church from the circumstances.
We pray this in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.
