MiSMo Body Care is a small Australian owned company dedicated to improving skin health and slowing the ageing process. We combine Nature and Technology. Your skin will positively glow after following the simple MiSMo regime for as little as 4 weeks.

We present a boutique range of mineral rich skin care products in as natural a form as possible, all of which contain our star ingredient, MSM. MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is a source of organic sulphur, a mineral present in every cell of the body.

MiSMo products are offered to Beauty Therapists as we believe there is a niche market for clients who like to use natural products which actually deliver improvement to skin texture, tone and elasticity.

MiSMo products are affordable for all, therefore sales are easily made.

Anti-ageing begins with a well nourished skin. Studies have shown that in the case of sensitive skins, the fewer ingredients used the better. Often it is the type of preservative, colouring or fragrance that causes an irritation to the skin. Our products have been well tested on sensitive skin and skin conditions including Psoriasis and Rosacea with great results. Dry skins respond very well to the moisture and nourishment offered in MiSMo creams.

MiSMo products are all made in Queensland and have a high content of natural oils, organic Aloe Vera and MSM. Also used are Hyaluronic Acid and Matrixyl Synthe 6 as well as Vitamins A, B3, C and E, ingredients at the forefront of innovative skin care. There are many grades and molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid and they are not equal. The type we use penetrates the dermis effectively. This has been proven in medical research.

We DO NOT use Propylene Glycol, Parabens, Mineral Oils, Alcohol, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, colouring or artificial fragrances. MiSMo products are Animal cruelty free and animal product free. Most products are suitable for Vegans.

Fragrance (where applicable) is achieved using hypoallergenic ingredients.

ANTI-AGEING : SENSITIVE SKINS

The MiSMo skin care range has proven itself in the areas of anti-ageing, sensitive, sun damaged and normal skin care use. Improvement in skin clarity, tone and appearance is visible in a few weeks. It is a simple routine that works in the salon and at home.

PRODUCT PENETRATION

Mismo creams and gels have superior penetration. Moisturisers provide excellent hydration, never leave an oily film on the skin and last all day. The reason for this includes the use of low molecular weight ingredients and production techniques:

• MSM is a featherweight molecule which enters skin easily. • Aloe Vera has amazing penetrating qualities. • Hyaluronic acid comes in a wide range of molecular weights. This determines whether it

penetrates the skin or stays on the surface. Our ingredient has been proven in medical research to reach the extra cellular matrix. The HA we use is certified suitable for vegans, derived from plant. Hyaluronic Acid also known as HA, Sodium hyaluronate or Hyaluron is a carbohydrate not an acid. HA is a high end ingredient and very costly.

• Natural oils used are all similar to human sebum and are compatible with the body.

SYNERGY:

MiSMo uses ingredients that are in synergy – they work well together. For results to be gained this is most important. Ingredients not in synergy can cause inflammation and irritation.

CONCENTRATED:

MiSMo products are concentrated. Only small amounts are required because we use no “fillers”, just pure effective ingredients.

EXFOLIATING EFFECTS:

One of the main reasons Mismo creams and gels work so well is the gentle ongoing exfoliation caused by the specific mixes of our ingredients. We do not need to use low pH to stimulate this effect. It is a very safe natural approach. Mismo is non comedogenic.

NATURAL FACE CLEANSER:

Directions: Use 1 pump of cleanser on a moist face. Massage in gentle circles over face, neck and décolletage. If wearing make-up a second cleanse is recommended. Remove with warm water. MiSMo face cloths can be used to remove make-up first MiSMo Cloth and cleanser can be used together for the first cleanse. Use only cleanser second time around. The formulation is extremely gentle and is safe to use around the eyes.

The active ingredients include organic Aloe Vera, MSM and Olive Oil. Macadamia oil is used for moisturizing due to its similarities to our own sebum. Organic Aloe Vera, Sweet almond oil, Apricot kernel and glycerin (a vegetable oil) complete the mix for an excellent cleanser that reaches deep into the pores. The aroma is an appealing sea tonic. Skin is left soft and hydrated.

“A good cleanser is to the skin is what a clean canvas is to an artist. Cleansing is the starting point to radiant skin. Without preparation the top coat can’t be at its best.”

No sodium lauryl sulphate is used. It’s often irritating to the skin. It is a surfactant used to produce lather in all sorts of products. We use no mineral oils, propylene glycol, alcohol or colours.

The surfactant used is caprylyl/capryl glucoside derived from plant. Surfactants are a necessary part of cleansers used to break up the oil particles. This type is very gentle. pH is 5.5 - 6

NATURAL FACE EXFOLIATOR:

Directions: Use a pump of Exfoliator on a moist face. The base of Natural Exfoliator is Natural Face Cleanser so if a client is not wearing make-up one cleanse is sufficient. Gently work large circles over the face, neck and décolletage. Rinse well.

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells which can dull the appearance of skin, clog pores and slow the growth of new cells. Cycle of skin cells is approximately 28 days but can be much longer as we age e.g. up to 40 days past 45 depending how skin well is looked after. It is a critical step in anti-ageing. Our Exfoliator has a rich cleanser base including castor oil, coconut oil, macadamia oil, glycerin and MSM. Organic Rice powder provides excellent exfoliation which is gentle enough for sensitive skins. This stimulates, sloughs, conditions and gives a deep cleansing treatment. The penetrating action of MSM helps achieve this well. No Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, mineral oils, propylene glycol, alcohol or colour have been used.

DAILY FACE WASH AHA/BHA Cleanser

Daily Face Wash is what is termed an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid)/BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) cleanser. Fragrance, oil and soap free, this clear gel has a small amount of foam that thoroughly cleanses the skin of make-up and daily grime.

People who are acne or blemish prone will find this an excellent choice. Salicylic and Glycolic Acids combine to loosen the glue that holds dead cells on the skin. These dead cells can cause blockages in pores which in turn become pimples, blackheads or blind pimples. Excessive layers of dead cells also give a dull appearance to the complexion.

Daily Face Wash is very gentle and can be used on most skin types. Salicylic Acid reaches deeper into pores while Glycolic Acid is a small molecule which is very effective in dissolving dead skin cells.

Glycolic Complex 12 % has been combined with 2% Salicylic Acid. PH is 4.7 This level ensures effectiveness and gentleness.

Some Clients do not like creamy cleansers and Daily Face Wash is the opposite to Natural Cleanser. No oil, no soap, no fragrance. Gel vs Creamy. This gives your clients a choice.

Main Ingredients include: Glycolic and Salicylic Acids, Chamomile, Quandong and Kakadu Plum Extracts.

Directions: For best results use 1-2 times a day. Use only one pump as the formulation is concentrated. Moisten the skin and massage in gentle circles over the face and neck for at least 30 seconds. If wearing makeup, a second cleanse is recommended. Wash off with tepid water, never hot. A MiSMo Microfibre face cloth can be used to remove makeup first.

! MicroDerm Resurfacing CreamWith Bamboo (Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Powder)

MiSMo MicroDerm Resurfacing Cream is an exciting innovative formulation designed to achieve a deep exfoliation.

MicroDerm is a super exfoliant using Natural Bamboo powder as the resurfacing particle. Natural Face Cleanser is the base for MicroDerm combined with a high content of bamboo powder. A very effective exfoliation is achieved either using hand massage or a battery operated microdermabrasion tool such as DermaNew.

Bamboo used in this product is farmed and a renewable resource. Bamboo powder feels and works in a similar manner to corundum crystals (from aluminium) which are widely used in microdermabrasion creams. MiSMo prefers to use a natural ingredient such as Bamboo.

This system was developed after much research, and by going that one step further achieves a formulation that targets fine lines and wrinkles by deeper removal of dead skin cells. The face is left feeling ultra-smooth as fresh underneath layers of the skin are revealed.

Who is Microderm for? Not suitable for very sensitive skin types. Always patch test for these clients due to the large bamboo bead.

MISMO MICROFIBRE CLOTH

MiSMo Cloth is a remarkable product which removes makeup - including mascara - using only water. It is made from microfibre using the very latest technology. The MiSMo cloth is 30 x 30cm.

Simply wet and squeeze out the excess water and wipe away! No time consuming routine. They are especially good for removing eye makeup, as you don't have to use any oily preparations or soap that can irritate the skin or get in your eyes. Just remember to be gentle with the eye area and not pull at the skin. Great for home use. Importantly, the acid mantle of the skin is not affected by using a MiSMo Cloth.

Skin prone to acne will also benefit from using a MiSMo cloth. It removes surface bacteria and stimulates blood circulation and regeneration of new cells. Often acne skins are very sensitive to any creams but they need excess surface oils and daily pollution removed, so the MiSMo Cloths are a great solution. If

you're after a two-pronged attack we have had excellent reports of calming and reduced inflammation from people using our MiSMo Cell Soother on spots.

MiSMo Cloths are also a great idea for tradesmen or farmers who are exposed to dust and dirt during the day and won’t consider using cleanser. They are also a great solution when traveling or camping. Makeup artists and beauty therapists find MiSMo Cloths a great help for quick removal of make up and spills while working. They also reduce the amount of cleanser used at the start of a facial. MiSMo’s firming mask is easily removed using the Cloth.

Although the Cloths work wonderfully with just water, you can use also use them in combination with our MiSMo Natural Facial Cleanser for even easier makeup removal. Plus, the gentle massaging action supplied by the Cloth helps to stimulate blood circulation and cell renewal.

The MiSMo Cloth is made from the very best microfibre. The fibres are infinitely finer than a human hair. The secret of the best microfibre is in the splitting of fibres which enables the fabric to remove and hold make-up, daily pollution and grease until it is washed.

To Clean: Wash with soap and water and rinse well and hang to dry. Can be washed in the washing machine. Don’t wash with towels as they can pick up the fluff. Fine to wash with sheets. Clothes dryers are a no-no but if you give it a wave over with a warm hair dryer it will dry more quickly. Suitable for all skin types including sensitive and acne:

PHP provides multiple benefits in one treatment. An array of beautiful ingredients each with a specific purpose.

• Kaolin Clay or China Clay: Draw toxins from deep within cells and hold for removal. They also soften skin

• Colloidal Oatmeal: Anti-ageing, softens skin, draws impurities from pores, reduces redness • Manuka Honey – medical grade. Anti- bacterial, hydrating, healing, smells great. • MSM to soften cell walls, anti oxidant, anti inflammatory, feed the disulfide bonds, • Organic Aloe Vera to regenerate cells, promote exfoliation, calm skin • Hyaluronic Acid – King of Hydrators, replace lost moisture in extra cellular matrix and the

As the name suggests, PHP treatment mask purifies, hydrates and plumps. The quality of the ingredients and proportions used are second to none. We have incorporated a huge amount of Hyaluronic acid in the formulation to provide your clients with a “gold” quality treatment. Apart from the detoxifying, protecting and calming abilities of Colloidal Oatmeal, it also contains beta glucans (polysaccarides) and a magic ingredient called Gamma Oryzanol an exceptional anti-ageing ingredient.

Directions: After cleansing and exfoliating, apply a teaspoon of PHP to face and neck or include décolletage in a more extensive facial (use extra mask). May be used under the eye and brow areas. Allow 15 – 20 minutes for absorbable ingredients to penetrate and hydrate skin. You may now perform a facial massage with treatment still in place. Moisten fingertips and begin massage. The Jojoba and almond oils provide slip.

Alternatively, apply PHP treatment and use as a massage medium. The movement and warmth of hands will accelerate the penetration of HA, MSM, Aloe and Manuka honey.

Remove with moist cloth.

To complete facial apply 1 pump of Rejuvenating Gel and after that has penetrated, finish with a small amount of moisturiser. Even on a mature skin this should be sufficient after the intense hydration.

Tip: Mix a few drops of A-C-E Vitamin Serum with PHP mask for a luxurious mask to "feed a hungry skin.

Firming mask can now be applied for a lift and stimulation. After mask has set and been removed, follow with a pump of Rejuvenating Gel. When this has absorbed, apply New Age Moisturiser.

FIRMING MASK

Salon use as required for a mini temporary face lift.

An albumen based mask offers either a quick lunch time fix or a deeply stimulating treatment. Albumen is pure protein and has a good lifting and stimulating effect on the complexion. Cornflour gently removes toxins and softens skin. Botanicals of chamomile to calm, green tea- an excellent anti oxidant, orange blossom, spearmint for stimulation and limeflowers are also added. Suitable for all skin types.

Directions: Mix 1 teaspoon powder with 1 teaspoon of Cell Soother to form a paste.

Express mini lift: Leave mask for 10 – 15 minutes or until dry.

Stimulate and revitalize: Leave mask for 25 minutes. Blood supply will be greatly stimulated.

By mixing with Cell Soother a more comprehensive treatment is achieved. The Cell Soother promotes exfoliation, regenerates new cells and the MSM softens the skin. For extra hydration a pump of Rejuvenating Gel can also be added to the mix.

Apply upward and outward from the décolletage to the mouth area. Continue upward and outward towards the ears and continue up to the hairline.

After mask has set, moisten again with water. This makes removal easy. Rinse off with clean water. Firming mask can be used under the eye to assist the reduction of puffy eyes. Recommended for salon situations not for client advice.

Firming Mask can also be mixed with Rose water, Lavender water (for a pleasant aroma) or plain water or a gel.

AHA FRUIT MASQUE WITH JOJOBA BEADS

AHA Fruit Masque is a dual action mask designed to decongest blocked pores and refine skin. A wonderful dual action masque that will brighten complexions. The AHA component of the formulation will loosen dead skin cells while Jojoba beads will continue the process of removal once the mask has dried. Glycolic acid, derived from sugar cane, is an alpha hydroxy acid which dissolves dead skin cells. We have added a fruit acid as well to increase the results of exfoliation. The final piece of the mask puzzle is round jojoba beads which will not scratch the skin but gently accelerate the process.

Used for the secondary action of AHA Fruit Masque, Jojoba beads remove the loose debris from the skin. Jojoba beads are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. MSM: Repairs and softens the skin and works behind the scenes on a cellular level.Aloe Vera: Soothing, healing and anti-aging benefits. Contains 18 amino acids that are very helpful in treating a variety of skin conditions

Directions: Cleanse face. Exfoliate with MicroDerm (this step is optional). Apply a fine layer of AHA Fruit Masque, avoiding the eye area. A prickling or tingling sensation may initially be felt by your client. Allow to dry, moisten with wet fingers then massage, allowing Jojoba beads to slough off dead cells. Rinse well. Apply Rejuvenating Gel, A-C-E Vitamin C Serum and a MiSMo moisturiser. For dry skins finish with Nourishing Cream or Anti-Wrinkle Cream. Rosacea skins New Age Moisturiser with Sunscreen or Nourishing Cream. For Acne skins use Boost or New Age Moisturiser.

Important – Please advise clients to be aware of sun exposure after this exfoliating mask. A good sunscreen or mineral makeup is recommended.

Suitable for Normal, Aging and Acne skin types. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

CELL SOOTHER:

Multi purpose MSM and Aloe Vera Gel: Suitable for all skin types. Cell Soother is a great Skin Balancer when used after cleansing. Young clients who do not need anti-ageing treatment would benefit from using Cell Soother. Mature clients will gain more results from Rejuvenating Gel but if they are not prepared to spend the extra dollars on Rejuvenating Gel, Cell Soother will still offer a good treatment.

MiSMo Cell Soother is an outstanding product with a high content of pure organic Aloe Vera juice and MSM. The keratoloytic nature of organic sulphur removes dead cells. Both ingredients are also used internally as nutritional supplements therefore producing a holistic type of product.

A synthetic preservative is used in Cell Soother because of the high content of Aloe Vera. There are difficulties stabilising and preserving Aloe with natural preservatives because it is such an active ingredient. We do not use parabens.

Organic Aloe Vera has so many features but a few are: It is an incredible penetrant and actually stimulates the growth of new cells. There are over 200 identified ingredients in Aloe Vera. They include 20 of the 22 amino acids. The plant is about 96% water. The rest of it contains active ingredients including minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glycoproteins. Lupeol and salicylic acid in the juice explains why it is a very effective pain killer. Vitamins A, B, C, & F, and an array of minerals are present to help regenerate cells deep in the skin. Exfoliation takes place much faster when using Cell Soother. The salicylic acid and enzymes naturally present in Aloe Vera help this process. When used on acne, inflammation is aided and the healing process is accelerated. No colour or fragrance has been added. Natural Aloe Vera is a translucent pale golden shade, not green as you see in some products.

Aloe Vera’s moisturising, soothing and healing abilities, recognised and used for centuries have now been confirmed by scientific evidence.

MSM (organic sulphur) is a more recent discovery which has been gaining steady popularity as nature’s own anti-ageing beauty treatment. See more in the MSM section.

Directions:

After a facial on a client with Acne or active Rosacea apply a pump of Rejuvenating Gel and allow to absorb. Follow with a pea size amount of Cell soother, just enough to provide a fine film over the face and neck. Finish will New Age Moisturiser

Toning or Skin Balancing: After cleansing, Cell Soother is excellent for toning the skin and helps to tighten pores. Used this way continued exfoliation will occur in a gentle manner. Apply a thin layer, allow to penetrate, then finish with a moisturiser. The benefits of AHA’s are achieved without irritation.

Waxing: Apply a light film after waxing to calm skin and encourage healing of minute abrasions.

Post IPL: Apply a layer after the procedure to reduce heat, redness and calm skin. If kept in the fridge the client will love the cold feel.

Microdermabrasion: After treatment apply a thick layer of Cell Soother, enough to stay gelled and leave for 10 minutes. Remove with a moist cloth. Apply Rejuvenating Gel, then 1 pump ACE Vitamin C serum for best results.

Masks: For Mismo Firming mask, add equal parts, approximately a teaspoon of Cell Soother to powder and mix. Extra treatment is received when used this way. Cell Soother can also be mixed with clay masks. To use as a hydrating mask, first apply a thick layer of Cell Soother, then top with New Age Moisturiser. Leave for 15 minutes and remove with moist cloth. Apply a pump of Rejuvenating Gel and finish with the moisturiser of choice. Skin will be super soft and calm.

Scars: After a minor injury, apply cell soother to promote healing. Use twice a day. In the case of a surgical procedure, after stitches are removed apply Cell Soother several times daily for a better outcome in reducing scars. MSM helps to smooth and soften scars. Laboratory testing has proven even in the case of old scars MSM can help improve colour and thickness of scars by softening the skin tissue. A scar can’t be completely eliminated but they can be reduced substantially. I personally have had great success with this with both very old and new scars.

Exfoliation: Cell Soother is a great treatment tool which helps dissolve dead cells. In a back treatment Cell soother can be used to help ease tight muscles and exfoliate at the same time. Apply a thick layer of gel and massage. After about 5 minutes, depending on skin type and amount used, most of the gel will absorb and the dead cells will peel away with light movement over skin.

Acne: To ease inflammation of pustules or blind pimples, apply a dob of gel several times during the day. For acne apply a light film over whole face. Cell soother is not a moisturiser as such and contains no oils. We suggest using a light moisturiser over Cell Soother. Mismo Moisturiser is ideal.

Cold Sores: At the first sign of a cold sore apply a small amount and continue to do so, every hour or so. This can be reduced over the next few days. When the cold sore starts to dry out, use Moisturiser over Cell Soother. Cell Soother has been found to help reduce swelling, pain and length of time they last.

Hyaluronic Acid is derived from natural plant material. HA revives the lost skin tone and returns a plump, hydrated youthful complexion. It is unrivalled as a hydrator. Salon use:

1. After micro-dermabrasion skin will respond well to a treatment with Rejuvenating Gel. First apply a thick layer of Cell Soother and leave for 10 minutes. Remove Cell Soother with a moist cloth and apply Rejuvenating Gel, then a pump of A-C-E Vitamin Serum for an exceptional result.

2. After any peel, facial or treatment apply one pump of Gel. A noticeable plumping will be achieved and skin is immediately softer. Any skin trauma will be reduced and healing greatly hastened.

3. For a luxurious mask add some Rejuvenating Gel to the base. The low molecular weight components will penetrate and nurture the dermis.

4. For clients with Acne or Rosacea, use Rejuvenating Gel and then a fine film of Cell Soother. Follow with Moisturiser. For dry, normal or irritated skin use Nourishing Cream.

5. Use for 10 days before IPL, light or ultrasound treatment for a much better result. Far greater outcomes will result by providing the dermis with Hyaluronic Acid. Treatments will stimulate Collagen and Elastin but not Hyaluronic Acid, the missing link. Continue to use Rejuvenating Gel after treatments for best results.

A synthetic preservative is used in Rejuvenating Gel. It is not a paraben.

A-C-E VITAMIN SERUM:

A-C-E Vitamin Serum is a concentrated anti oxidant, anti-ageing treatment. The predominant Vitamin is C which is combined with Vitamins A & E to combat sun damage on the face, neck, hands or any area of the body.

The type of Vitamin C used is critical as it is probably the most difficult and unreliable ingredient to work with. We have used Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, a relative newcomer to the scene. It is an oil soluble form of Vitamin C which enters skin cells very easily. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, VC-IP for short, is the most effective, stable and non-irritating form of Vitamin C. While we read about the many products boasting various percentages this is irrelevant if the Vitamin C either does not enter the skin cell or loses its activity because of oxidation. It is very difficult to have an effective water soluble Vitamin C unless it is

sold in one use vials. The acidity factor comes in here as well. VC-IP is non acidic and does not cause the skin to dry out, quite the reverse.

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is capable of delivering up to 10 times the amount of Vitamin C into skin cells. This form of vitamin C has been around for a few years but is still fairly uncommon. One reason is the high cost. We are fortunate to have a chemist who is very well versed in Vitamin C and its pitfalls.

VC-IP is a potent anti-oxidant which helps stimulate the production of collagen and strengthen skin tissue. Skin brightening, increased elasticity and reduction of pigmentation are other major benefits. Thicker skin tissue can result from the use of Vitamins A and C.

Vitamin A as Retinyl Palmitate is also used. This form of Vitamin A is effective, gentle and non irritating. It is also what is found in the liver so the body readily accepts Retinyl Palmitate into the skin. Sun damage caused by UV rays, smoking and pollution can be improved by using Retinyl Palmitate. Further sun damage is prevented by supplying the skin with Vitamins A and C.

Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant which increases the efficacy of Vitamins C & A. Vitamin E combats free radicals which cause skin ageing. It also acts as a preservative to ensure freshness and stability of the oils. Greater penetration and effectiveness is achieved by combining Vitamins A C & E.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is used as a carrier oil. It is a very light oil containing Essential Fatty Acids which absorbs quickly and provides extra hydration.

Jojoba Oil is included for its skin rejuvenating and softening qualities and for slip in facial massage. Many Vitamin C formulations, especially water based Vitamin C, can lose their activity quickly when exposed to air. A-C-E Vitamin Serum is a light oil formulation designed to remain active for 12 – 18 months. Protect from heat and light. An improvement in skin texture will seen after about 4 weeks and by 3 – 4 months the full benefits will be seen. Be patient, it took many years for this damage to develop.

We recommend using Rejuvenating Gel before A-C-E Vitamin Serum to achieve the very best outcome. Follow with either Moisturiser or Nourishing Cream.

HANDS: A-C-E Vitamin Serum is a fantastic hand treatment. It is not a hand “cream” but an intensive treatment. The vitamins will penetrate the skin cells and not wash off. Use morning and night for maximum benefits. In dry weather use a Barrier Cream over the serum for an even better result. After a few weeks of daily use you will see an improvement in hands. I suggest advising your client to take a photo of their hands for comparison a few months later. Perhaps you could offer this service in your salon.

A-C-E Vitamin Serum can be used during a facial massage.

A pump of A-C-E can be mixed with PHP Treatment Mask to fortify a hydrating facial.

After cleansing and exfoliation, use A-C-E Vitamin serum during a facial a massage where it will penetrate and boost the results of your facial. Finish with a moisturiser depending on the skin type. Moisturiser for normal to oily types. Nourishing Cream for normal to dry skin types.

If you mask after facial massage, apply PHP mask and leave 15 minutes. Remove with a warm moist towel.

Always use your water soluble actives before oil products. By using Rejuvenating Gel first you will give your client a total treatment replenishing the bi-layers of the skin.

Alternatively apply A-C-E Vitamin Serum and seal with an alginate mask. The mask will form an occlusive cover on the skin, sealing the vitamins and accelerating the infusion of the serum. Finish with either Moisturiser or Nourishing Cream depending on skin type.

For clients who use Jet Therapy, after performing a facial and applying Rejuvenating Gel, apply A-C-E Vitamin serum and proceed with treatment.

A-C-E Serum is very effective when applied after micro-dermabrasion or IPL treatment. The skin will absorb and utilize the vitamins. Skin will be hydrated and soft. Finish with either Moisturiser or Nourishing Cream.

Galvanic and Iontophoresis: A-C-E is not suitable for these procedures because it is an oil.

Sonophoresis: A-C-E is perfect to use. After cleansing and exfoliating phase apply Rejuvenating Gel. After absorption apply a pump of A-C-E Serum and continue with treatment. Results will be greatly enhanced.

RESULT TIME:

Results from A-C-E Vitamin Serum used on a daily basis will vary. Some clients have noticed a difference in as little as 5 days. These results are more obvious when applying to hands. You can expect an improvement to skin texture in 4 weeks and a strong improvement in 12 weeks.

DIRECTIONS FOR HOME USE:

AT NIGHT: After cleansing and applying Rejuvenating Gel, use one pump on face, neck and back of hands or anywhere with sun damage. A dry skin may be able to use the serum during the day and it is up to the client whether she feels it is too much oil for day time use. A smaller amount can be used. Follow with Nourishing Cream or Moisturiser for a total anti-ageing routine.

Do not apply A-C-E Serum under the eye area. Keep it to the bone line but use on crow’s feet.

It is recommended to use on the hands morning and night.

It is really important to understand why the ingredients have been chosen because you are not average people. You have a great deal more knowledge that most.

Just because a cream is heavy does not mean all the issues of dry skin will be solved. The solution is balance and combining water retaining ingredients with oils that increase the lipid (oil) content of skin without clogging pores. Pore clogging is the danger with a heavy oily cream.

Vitamins included: The primary vitamin is Vitamin C (comparable to 15-18% in other companies lingo)Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate or VCIP Vitamin A Palmitate; Vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate); Vitamin B5 (Panthenol)

The difference between Nourishing Cream and New Age Moisturiser is the extra oils and butters used in Nourishing Cream, making it a richer cream. Nourishing Cream can also be termed a night cream

A special manufacturing method is used for Nourishing Cream. The droplets are smaller resulting in far better penetration and superior long lasting hydration. A low pH also helps explain the effectiveness of Nourishing Cream. This is essential for treating dry skin.

WHY USE ZINC?

Zinc is a safe natural mineral that has been used for decades for sun protection. Earlier forms of zinc used to leave the skin with a white sheen but this is a micro (not nano) zinc that quickly becomes clear on the skin.

Tips to help with colours based on Fitzpatrick scale.

Beige Fair - Pale skin which has no redness. Beige Fair has pink to neutral undertones. Skin burns easily Type 2

Beige Medium - Medium skin which gradually tans but you don't blush and have No redness. Beige Medium has pink to neutral undertones. Extremely popular colour. Type 3

Fair - Fair or Pale skin which has some redness in skin, often blonde or red hair, freckles. Sometimes blush. Skin burns easily. Fair has yellow undertones to correct redness. Type 2

Medium - Medium is the most common skin colour in Caucasians. Skin sometimes burns but gradually tans. Redness or visible capillaries in skin. Yellow undertones. Most popular colour suits most white Australian skins. Type 3

Medium Plus - You tan quite well, light olive skin type or use fake tan. Girls who use Medium in winter often change to Medium Plus in summer as a tan builds. Type 4

MiSMo Mineral Makeup Foundation Application Tips

The following suggestions are for a flawless star like makeup. You may elect to use only MiSMo Mineral Foundation for a minimal finish. Bronzer or Blush are recommended. Highlighter and Mineral Veil are optional.

1.Moisturiser: This is essential. Oil is what holds minerals on the face. Apply minerals in downward strokes while skin is still moist.

2. Conceal: Place a tissue on your work area. Shake some mineral Foundation into the lid of the container. Take your MiSMo large shadow brush and swirl in powder. You will notice there is a significant amount of mineral powder on the brush. Do not automatically apply the minerals to your face. Instead, gently tap the excess from the brush first.

Use on the areas where you need a little extra coverage. Apply the mineral foundation on blemishes and dark spots, and in the folds your nose area. Use smooth and even strokes when using the large shadow brush, so you get a more even finish. Once you have concealed any problem areas set your large shadow brush to the side. You may need it later for small touch-ups. Now you can take the Mineral makeup Kabuki brush and begin applying the foundation to the rest of your face.

Just as with the large shadow brush, use a MiSMo mineral makeup kabuki brush to swirl the foundation, and then tap away the excess before applying it to your face. Tap the base of brush on a hard surface to distribute the minerals in the brush. If you need more foundation in the lid, feel free to add more as needed.

Once you have the minerals on the brush, start at nose and apply the mineral makeup, using downward strokes. Work your way from the sides of your nose outward and then cover your forehead, nose, eyes, chin, and mouth area. You should reapply the mineral powder to your brush 1-2 times during application. The downward strokes give a flawless finish. Around the eyes, start at the bridge of the nose and sweep around the eyes.

Most companies suggest buffing in circular motions but we find the downward method works best. Facial hair grows downward. Once you are finished with the application, gently buff out the jaw line of your face so there are no apparent demarcation lines between your jaw and your neck.

Next you will be adding colour to your face by using a blush, a warming colour or bronzer, or both.

Begin by shaking the mineral powder into the appropriate lids. If you are applying a blush, use the MiSMo Blush/Bronzer brush. Shake a tiny amount of Blush onto the lid, squeeze the hairs of the brush into a fan shape and lightly dip the brush into the mineral blush powder on the lid, swirl slightly, and tap off any excess.

Next place the brush on your cheek area where the middle of your eye sits. On most people this is approximately where the apples of your cheeks are. Smile slightly to see which area of your cheek raises up and outwards.

Sweep the brush over each cheek area, not going past the outer corner of your eyes, go back and blend. You don't want to make obvious circles or racing stripes, so be sure to blend the colour and be somewhat light-handed in the application process.

Remember, it's much easier to add than to take away. Whether you choose to use a warming colour or a bronzer alone or with a blush colour, you will be applying it in the same fashion. You will be using the blush brush.

5. Bronzer: 3g $13.20 Salon price $22.00 RRP

First begin by wiping the brush clean with tissue. Next, squeeze the hairs of the brush into a fan shape. Lightly dip the brush into the mineral powder, swirl slightly, and tap off the excess. Now lightly apply the colour across your cheeks and up your temples, very lightly down the centre of your nose, on your chin, over your forehead and very lightly on your ears.

Most of the time when a bronzer or warming colour is applied the ears get missed and it tends to give you an incomplete look. Finally, gently sweep the brush downward from your jaw down your neck, in order to give you a more natural look. Bronzer can also be used as an eyeshadow or eyeliner.

The outcome of the Hydrating Facial is to replenish the moisture levels in the bi-layers of the skin. Your client’s skin will be plumped, hydrated and very soft.

Products to use: Daily Face wash or Cleanser, Exfoliator, PHP Treatment Mask, Rejuvenating Gel, Eye Cream Complex, A-C-E Serum; either Anti Wrinkle Cream, Moisturiser or Nourishing Cream

Step 1. If client is wearing make-up double cleanse with a MiSMo Cleanser. If the client is not wearing make-up single cleanse.

Dispense 1 pump from salon size cleanser on your wet hands and emulsify. Apply to a moist face.

Step 2. Exfoliate with MiSMo Natural Exfoliator or Microderm (both have a cleanser base) pearl size amount. Emulsify with a few drops of water. Gently work in large circles over face, neck and décolletage, letting the exfoliating beads do the work. Remove thoroughly with warm water and towel.

Step 3. Apply Rejuvenating Gel on face and neck, 1 pump. Allow to penetrate.

Step 4. Apply approximately 1 teaspoon PHP Mask over face and neck. Use extra for decollatage. PHP mask may be applied under the eyes and under the eye brow. It is very gentle. Leave 15 - 20 minutes. A facial massage may be performed either at the beginning or end of the facial. If it is a the end moisten fingertips to renew the slip. Remove with a moist warm towel.

Step 5. Apply 1 pump of Eye Cream Complex to eyes (1 is enough for both eyes)

Step 6. Apply one pump of A-C-E Vitamin Serum.

Step 7. Finish with New Age Moisturiser for younger, oily, acne or problem skin types.

Or: Anti Wrinkle Cream or Nourishing Cream for mature, dry or dehydrated skins.

PHP Treatment Mask contains lavish amounts of Hyaluronic Acid which plumps the skin. The effects of the PHP mask last during the next day or so.

The outcome from the Firming Facial is a lift and tightening in the face and neck. Client will feel a smoother, firmer complexion.

Products to use: Daily Face Wash or Cleanser, Exfoliator, Cell Soother, Firming Mask, Rejuvenating Gel, Eye Cream Complex, A-C-E Serum, New Age Moisturiser or Nourishing Cream

Step 1. If client is wearing make-up double cleanse with MiSMo Natural Cleanser. If the client is not wearing make-up single cleanse.

KEY INGREDIENTS

MSM MSM or Methyl sulfonyl methane is a source of bio-available organic Sulphur, which is present in every cell of the body. It is the flexible bond between the cells. MSM has proved to be a great skin softener which helps prevent cross linking of skin, a cause of wrinkles, lines and scarring. Studies have shown it penetrates the layers of the dermis and helps improve production of collagen and keratin. It also softens cell walls making them more permeable. This enables healthy cells to replicate. It allows nutrients to enter and toxins to exit. Laboratory testing has proven scar improvement and skin softening. MSM is a featherweight molecule and as such enters the skin very easily. MSM is an incredible anti-imflammatory and also has anti-oxidant properties.

Hot sulphur springs have been used for therapeutic purposes for centuries. The odour comes from sulphur. The Story of the Hyaluronic Acid Molecule

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a carbohydrate, more specifically a mucopolysaccharide occurring naturally throughout the human body. It can be several thousands of sugars (carbohydrates) long. When not bound to other molecules, it binds to water giving it a stiff viscous quality similar to “Jello”. This viscous Gel is one of the most heavily researched substances in medicine today with thousands of clinical trials mostly in the fields of orthopedics and eye surgery. Its function in the body is, amongst other things, to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness allows it to be used in skin-care products as an excellent moisturizer. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most hydrophilic (water-loving) molecules in nature and can be described as "nature's moisturizer". Today’s Hyaluronic Acid is derived from plant material. In past years it was derived from rooster comb.

What is its Chemical Structure?

It is naturally produced in the human body and is chemically classified as a Glycosaminoglycan. In the body, hyaluronic acid always presents itself as a large high molecular weight molecule. The molecule is made up of a repetitive sequence of two modified simple sugars, one called glucuronic acid and the other N acetyl glucosamine. These compounds are both negatively charged and when put together, they repel producing an exceptionally long stretched out molecule (high molecular weight). HA molecules that are long and large in size produce a high viscosity (lubrication) effect which resists compression and allows our joints and skin to bear weight, withstand tension and endure abuses, such as physical trauma and abrasion that no other tissue in the body could withstand.

When was Hyaluronic Acid discovered?

Hyaluronic acid was first used commercially in 1942 when Endre Balazs applied for a patent to use it as a substitute for egg white in bakery products. The discovery of Hyaluronic Acid was very unique. No other molecule had ever been discovered that has such unique properties to the human body. Balazs went on to become the leading expert on HA, and made the majority of discoveries concerning HA.

Where is it located in the body?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally in most every cell in the body and occurs in high concentrations in specific body locations. In each body location, it serves a different function. Unfortunately, HA also has a half-life ( the time it takes for the molecule to get broken down and excreted from the body) of less than 3 days and possibly even as little as one day in the skin. For this reason, it is imperative that the body continually replenish itself with HA. Below are some of the areas in the human body where hyaluronic acid is present and critical to its function.

Bones/Cartilage

Hyaluronic Acid is found in all bones and cartilage structures throughout the body. Both of these structures provide a resilient rigidity to the structure of the human body. HA is especially found in various forms of cartilage but none more than the hyaline cartilage. As you've probably guessed it, hyaline is short for hyaluronic acid. Hyaline cartilage covers the ends of the long bones where articulation (bending) occurs and provides a cushioning effect for the bones. The hyaline cartilage has been called the "gristle cartilage" because its resistance to wear and tear. Hyaline cartilage also supports the tip of the nose, connects the ribs to the sternum and forms most of the larynx and supporting cartilage of the trachea and bronchial tubes in the lungs.

Synovial fluid

Our joints (like the elbows and knees) are surrounded by a membrane called the synovial membrane which forms a capsule around the ends of the two articulating bones. This membrane secretes a liquid called the synovial fluid.

Synovial fluid is a viscous fluid with the consistency of motor oil. It has many functions, but none more than providing the elastic shock absorbing properties of the joint. Its second most important function in the joint is to carry nutrients to the cartilage and to also remove waste from the joint capsule. Normally these processes are carried out via the blood vessels but because cartilage is without blood flow (avascular) the body relies on the Hyaluronic Acid to do so.

Tendons and Ligaments/Connective tissue

Connective tissue is found everywhere in the body. It does much more than connect body parts; it has many forms and functions. Its major functions include binding, support, protection, and insulation. One such example of connective tissue is the cordlike structures that connect muscle to bone (tendons) and bone to bone (ligaments). In all connective tissue there are three structural elements. They are ground substance (hyaluronic acid), stretchy fibers (collagen and elastin) and a fundamental cell type. Whereas all other primary tissues in the body are composed mainly of living cells, connective tissues are composed largely of a nonliving ground substance (hyaluronic acid) which separates and cushions the living cells of the connective tissue. The separation and cushioning allow the tissue to bear weight, withstand great tension and endure abuses that no other body tissue could. All of this is made possible because of the presence of the HA and its ability to form the gelatinous ground substance fluid.

Scalp Tissue and Hair Follicles

Structurally the scalp is identical to the skin tissue located throughout the body except it also contains about 100,000 hair follicles that give rise to hair. Actually the hair and the hair follicle are a derivative of skin tissue. There are two distinctive skin layers, one, the epidermis (outer layer) which gives rise to the protective shield of the body and the other, the dermal layer (deep layer) which makes up the bulk of the skin and is where the hair follicle is located. This dermal layer is composed of connective tissue and the connective tissue, with its gelatinous fluid like characteristics provides support, nourishes and hydrates the deep layers of the scalp. The result is healthy lustrous hair and a moisturized scalp. Again, all of this is made possible because of the presence of HA in the scalp tissue and its ability to form this fluid and hold water.

Lips

The lips are a core of skeletal muscle covered by skin tissue. The dermal layer of the lips is composed primarily of connective tissue and its components hyaluronic acid and collagen that give the structure (shape) and plumpness to the lips. The hyaluronic acid binds to water creating a gelatinous fluid that hydrates the surrounding tissue and keeps the collagen (responsible for keeping the skin tight) nourished and healthy. The result is healthy well hydrated and plump lips that are well protected from the environment.

Eyes

Hyaluronic acid is highly concentrated inside the eyeball. The fluid inside the eye called the vitreous humor is composed almost completely of hyaluronic acid. The HA gives the fluid inside the eye a viscous gel like property. This gel acts as a shock absorber for the eye and also serves to transport nutrients into the eye. Eye surgeons inject HA directly into the eye to help maintain the shape of the eye during surgery. It has been said that after the 5th decade of life, our eyes stop producing the much needed hyaluronic acid resulting in various eye problems such as poor vision, dry eyes, and floaters.

Gum Tissue

The Gums (gingivoe) are composed of dense fibrous connective tissue (ligaments) which secure the teeth to the aveloar bone (jaw bone). Once again, connective tissue is composed of a fibrous tissue surrounded by hyaluronic acid (extra-cellular matrix). Without the hyaluronic acid, the gum tissue becomes unhealthy and may lead to swelling. If the HA is present it helps to provide the tensile strength of the ligaments that secure the tooth in place by providing hydration and nourishment. The result is a healthy set of gums.

Skin

Although Hyaluronic Acid (HA) can be found naturally in most every cell in the body, it is found in the greatest concentrations in the skin tissue. Almost 50% of the bodies HA is found here. It is found in both the deep underlying

dermal areas as well as the visible epidermal top layers. Young skin is smooth and elastic and contains large amounts of HA that helps keep the skin stay young and healthy. The HA provides continuous moisture to the skin by binding up to 1000 times its weight in water. With age, the ability of the skin to produce HA decreases leaving the skin unhealthy and wrinkled.

ECM (ground substance)

The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a gelatinous (gel-like) fluid that surrounds almost all living cells and is essential to life. It gives structure and support to the body and without it, we would just be a trillions cells without a shape or function. It is essentially the mortar between the bricks. The skin, bones, cartilage, tendons and ligaments are examples where the ECM is located in the body. The ECM is composed of material (fibrous elements) called elastin and collagen surrounded by a gelatinous substance (Hyaluronic Acid). HA's roles in the ECM is to prevent the stretchy fibers in the body from overstretching and drying out by continually bathing them in this nutritious water base gelatinous fluid. It also serves as a wonderful medium through which nutrients and waste are transported to and from the cells of these structures. This fluid would not exist if it was not for the ability of the HA molecule to bind up to 1000 times its weight in water.

How does Hyaluronic Acid help the body?

In the joints If we compare the joints of the human body to and automobile engine, the joint fluid in the body mimics the oil in a car engine. At regular intervals we replace the oil in our car engines because the heat and friction breakdown the oils viscosity. The oil becomes thinner and less able to protect the metal surfaces from excessive wear. Hyaluronic acid acts the same way in our joints. As we age the viscosity of the joint fluid breaks down and becomes thin and is unable to cushion the joint cartilage. This leads to increased friction and wear on the cartilage surfaces of the joints. Hyaluronic Acid helps to restore the normal viscosity of joint fluid and to prevent further damage to the joint.

In the skin

The skin is the largest organ in the body comprising about 15% of the body weight. Roughly 50% of the Hyaluronic Acid in our body is found in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen are vital to maintaining the skin’s layers and structure. It is the collagen that gives the skin its firmness but it is the HA that nourishes and hydrates the collagen. Imagine the collagen as the stretchy fibers that restore the skin back to shape when stretched. Collagen is like a rubber band but stretch that rubber band a million times, like what we do with our skin and without any moisture. Eventually that rubber band gets overstretched (saggy) and dried out and will most likely break. This is much the same way the collagen in our skin reacts leaving our skin dry and wrinkled. Now imagine that same rubber band stretched a million times while under water the whole time. Chances of that rubber band drying out and breaking are minimal. Consider the Hyaluronic Acid as the water that keeps the collagen moist and elastic. Collagen is continuously surrounded and nourished by the gelatinous HA substance. Young skin is smooth and highly

elastic because it contains high concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid, which helps skin stay healthy. As we grow older, the body loses its ability to maintain this same concentration in the skin. With decreasing levels of HA in the skin, so goes the ability of the skin to hold water. The result, the skin becomes drier and loses its ability to restore itself. Hyaluronic acid acts as a space filler by binding to water and thus keeping the skin wrinkle-free.
