Our Perfect Example of How To
“Live Sacrificially”
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every
weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set
before us,
,2
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NKJV) 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
,2
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NKJV) 3 For consider Him who
endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest
you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
,2
Matthew 20:25-28 (NKJV) 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over
them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave-- 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

Jesus Teaches Us To Be “Sacrificial Servants”
(Luke 9:23-26; 57-62)✴ Self denial - i.e., deny
selfish desires & thoughts of self exaltation.
✴ Cross bearing - i.e., accept responsibilities & fulfill commitment to holiness no matter the cost!
✴ Dying to self - i.e., putting to death pride & all sin - living for God & others -
Being “Sacrificial Servants”Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of
God.
Being “Sacrificial Servants”1 Peter 1:13-19 (NKJV)
13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to
you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming
yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is
holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
Being “Sacrificial Servants”1 Peter 1:13-19 (NKJV)
16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."
17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves
throughout the time of your stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you were not
redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,
Being “Sacrificial Servants”1 Peter 1:13-19 (NKJV)
19 but with the precious blood of
Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and
without spot.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NKJV) 14 For the love of Christ compels
us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15
and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for
themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
Being “Sacrificial Servants”
Romans 6:13 (NKJV) 13 And do not present
your members as instruments of
unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from
the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
Being “Sacrificial Servants”
Romans 6:16 (NKJV) 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to
obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey,
whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience
leading to righteousness?
Being “Sacrificial Servants”
Romans 6:19 (NKJV) 19 I speak in human terms
because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you
presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for
holiness.
Being “Sacrificial Servants”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God,
and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a
price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit,
which are God's.
Being “Sacrificial Servants”
Hebrews 13:15-16 (NKJV) 15 Therefore by Him let us
continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well
pleased.
Being “Sacrificial Servants”
1 Peter 2:5 (NKJV) 5 you also, as living
stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God
through Jesus Christ.

No wealth to give of gems or gold, yet naught I have shall I withhold; My life, my love, my service too, To Thee alone
I would be true.Upon the cross my debt was paid; On Thee, my Lord, my guilt was laid; Oh
Thou alone, may truly know How much to Thee dear Lord, I owe.
What do I owe unto my Lord? My richest gifts shall I afford? What’er I do, where’er I go, My all to Thee, dear Lord,
I owe.” (Roy Harris)
✦ Give Jesus your heart - commit to trust & obey Him in all things!

Romans 12:1-10 (NKJV) 3 For I say, through the grace given to me,
to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to
think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all
the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one
another.
Romans 12:1-10 (NKJV) 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in
proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches,
in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality;
he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12:1-10 (NKJV) 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate
to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference
to one another;
