Greetings all,
Thanks to all the parishioners who participated in the Liturgical Ministries Day last Saturday. The Ministries Day brings together all who serve the Liturgy and the Church in various roles, (i.e. Lectors, etc.). The day gave us an opportunity to be together and share ideas. Congratulations to the 7 new Eucharistic Ministers who were installed at the meeting. We will also be training new Lectors in the next few months. Thanks to all our ministers for their dedicated service to the parish. God Bless you now and always. Thanks to the Holy Spirit Columbiettes for hosting Coffee Sunday last weekend. The Columbiettes also honored our Veterans at the Coffee as we marked Veterans Day this past Monday. God Bless all our veterans who have served our nation. Thank you to the Senior Group, who at their last meeting, donated gloves and mittens for the less fortunate among us… Thank you. Next Sunday, the Giving Tree will be set up in the Children’s Liturgy Room. Thanks to the enormous group of volunteers who each year collect toys and clothing for the poor. This is a great undertaking made successful by your generous outpouring of gifts. Please join us for the Annual Thanksgiving Family Mass on Tuesday, November 26th at 7:30pm in the Church. The Mass will be concelebrated with the choir present to provide music. Also, our Religious Ed children will participate. Join us. Over the next couple of weeks, the Gospel readings will focus on the “Last Things” that is, on the fulfillment of God’s plan for the world and the salvation of His people. The Church seeks to remind us that God’s plan is union with Him. We are further reminded that this future reality is determined not only by God’s decisions but by ours. By our decision to listen to God’s Word and follow Christ as a faithful disciple we begin our heaven here on earth. I pray, with the help of God’s grace it may be so for each of us. The Liturgical Year of the Church concludes with the celebration of Christ the King next Sunday November 24th.
Have a grace filled week. God bless… Fr. John
Pictured above (left to right) are the Columbiettes with a few of our Veterans and our 7 newly installed Eucharistic Ministers: Dominique Breitenbach, Kathy Brown, Diane Cilento, Chris Cole, Julie Colon, Anne Marie Hefele and Nancy Scala.

St. Joseph’s Missals are available on your way out of Mass. The cost is $5 per book and an envelope is provided. Please drop in the collection basket or return to the Rectory Office. Quantities are limited.
SAVE THE DATE
Our next Parish blood drive will be held Monday, December 30th, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm in the Parish Activity Center. Please save the date; more information will follow.

Come, Lord Jesus!
Giving thanks for God’s bounty Later this month we will gather with friends or family to give thanks for all the blessings we have received throughout the year. Yet the gifts don’t just come once a year, so try these tips for living gratitude all year: Say it out loud. Saying the words out loud will keep you from taking your blessings for granted. Let words of gratitude be the first ones you speak in the morning and the last ones on your lips at night. Avoid complaining. How can we be thankful and still gripe when things don’t go our way? When you find yourself feeling stressed or depressed, stop and list five blessings instead. Don’t shop or buy. Try putting off what you don’t absolutely need. Instead, clean out a closet, drawer, or storage area you have been ignoring and rediscover the good things you already have. Live thankfully. Each day, look for small blessings and pleasures. Noticing them will help you remember that God makes all things well and deserves our thanks. - Growing in Faith
