YEAR-IN-REVIEW WHAT YOU HELPED US DO!

United Way of Union County’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. The organization has advanced to this top distinction from a 3-star rating the previous year. Since 2002, using objective analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics, focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measures of openness, to its ratings methodology. These

Accountability & Transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders. "It's important our donors trust that we're using

their donations wisely to accomplish our mission of ‘Bringing Neighbors & Resources Together to Improve Lives in Union County’," said Sherri Coleman, Board of Trustees President. "Our 4-star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters our good governance and financial accountability."

Today, United Way of Union County is bringing people, organizations and communities together around a common cause, a common vision, and a common path forward. In our community, we're working to build up the cornerstones of education, financial stability and health—in partnership with our Funded Partner Agencies. We are bringing people together from all walks of life to be a part of local solutions. The following is a summary of the statistical impact that United Way and our Funded Partner Agencies are making, right here in Union County: Year-to-date totals through December 31, 2016: $628,211 total United Way funding used toward local

social service programs $2,626,417 total spent to provide these programs 23.92% of the funding used toward these programs

provided by the United Way Approximately 33,513 unduplicated residents served Approximately 312,731 units of service delivered

We were excited to welcome two new workplace campaign companies to our family this past year, with Costco Wholesale and Moriroku joining the team!

Union County’s first new Costco opened its 154,000-square-foot store in the Dublin Green shopping center in Jerome Township. The membership-

only warehouse club opened August 2016. Costco Wholesale Corporate is very supportive of United Way and the organizations in the communities where they are located. We are so grateful to have them here in Union County! Moriroku Technology North America, an automotive parts manufacturer, joined the campaign this year with a terrific start! The Moriroku Team had been involved for years with the United Way in Darke County, where their headquarters is located. The Marysville Team stepped right up and showed their fantastic associate support, and we look forward to having them join us for years to come! Thank you to the associates from Costco and Moriroku!

As times and technology change, so must the ways that we interact with our loyal donors! To keep up with these techno-changes, United Way of Union County added a new tool

to the fundraising toolbox this past year—mobile giving. We now have the capability to take pledges via a text-to-give platform. Donors can simply text UWUC to 91-999 to pledge any dollar amount. In addition, we can execute mobile giving at events or fundraisers.
