Master Degree in Cultural Heritage Management

An Interdisciplinary program offered jointly by the Université Française d’Egypte and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Heritage is more than monuments. It is the living memory of the nation and a resource for social and economic development. Heritage includes all the manifestations that have survived from the past, ranging from temples, mosques, monasteries to historical hous-es, and from proverbs, artworks and tales to musical performances, and festivals. The program is designed to enable graduates to mobilize such resources for social and eco-nomic benefits. The University (UFE) is currently engaged in a project to revitalize Historic Cairo, and another on the conservation and management of archaeological sites of Earliest Egypt (5000 to 3000 BC). UFE has won an international competition to train the staff of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and is a partner in the Inter-national Erasmus program in Museum studies.
