Dear Parishioners,

I love it when you ask questions about the parish and what’s going on. Gratefully, many people comment how busy and active we are at Our Lady of the Snows with many spiritual, educational and social events going on. One example is ARISE: TOGETHER IN CHRIST which began last week. Over 100

parishioners and guests signed up and presently they are attending six weekly sessions in various parts of the parish every day and night. On the tables in the Gathering Space and on the bulletin board at the church door there are announcements of upcoming events including the Rosary Rally, Holy Name Society meeting, Defensive Driving Course, Rosary Society Communion Luncheon, RCIA and much more!

With this in mind, parishioners have also asked about the colorful footprints on display at the church entrance. It is an invitation for everyone in the parish, children and adults, to attend our MINISTRY FAIR next weekend, October 15th and October 16th in the White Room. The theme is “Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus” and is an invitation to answer the invitation of Jesus to “follow him” by participating in the ministries, societies, organizations and clubs (MSOC’s) at Our Lady of the Snows.

Can you believe there are over 35 different parish groups? Indeed, there is something for everyone at Our Lady of the Snows! The Ministry Fair is an opportunity for every parishioner to come and learn more about the MSOC’s and think about participating in a new parish group. It may be the Arts and Crafts Group, altar servers, Parish Pastoral Council, catechists, Spirituality Committee, children’s choir, etc. At the Ministry Fair, members of the MSOC’s will be present to greet you with a warm smile, share information about their parish group, answer any questions you may have and much more. The Ministry Fair will be decorated with balloons, brochures, banners, billboards and giveaways. And there will be food . . . breakfast foods including cakes, cookies, juices, tea and other delicious treats for everyone’s enjoyment.

And for those who sign up at the Ministry Fair and start attending and/or volunteering in a new parish group in the months ahead, there will be fabulous prizes and surprises given away in the Spring. You don’t want to miss out! Thank you to the Leadership Committee for coordinating MINISTRY FAIR 2016 and to the coordinators of the various MSOC’s for preparing brochures, recruiting volunteers and much more to make next weekend very special in our parish.

See you at the Fair!

MASS IN MALAYALAM is celebrated in the church on Sunday evenings at 5:30PM. Those interested in attending the Malayalam Mass are encouraged to be present.

Gracious God and Father, we enter into your presence realizing you know us better than we know ourselves. You know the cares and sufferings we carry in our hearts. You call us to holiness and we trust you to lead us together on our journey to be a renewed Church, for with you all things are possible. Create us anew in Jesus Christ your Son. Liberate us from all that keeps us from you. Heal us from every form of sin and violence. Transform us to live your Word more profoundly. Awaken us to the sacred; rebuild trust among us. Enliven our parishes; reunite our families. May your Holy Spirit empower us to live as a community of love, freed to share in your work of recreating our world and restoring justice. We believe you are doing something new, calling us to arise together in Christ to celebrate the fullness of life. Amen. © 2007 RENEW International

Announcing the 2016

PUBLIC SQUARE ROSARY CRUSADE

America is at a historic crossroad. Secularists are trying to push God from the public square. They reject His beneficial action upon society. But without God, where will our leaders get the wisdom to solve the great problems we face?

We must stop the secularist advance and pray to God for help. He will hear us, if we pray through the intercession of His Blessed Mother. That’s why we’re launching the 2013 Public Square Rosary Crusade.

In The Secret of the Rosary, Saint Louis de Montfort said: “Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer to appease the anger of God and call down His mercy, and Holy Mother Church, guided by the Holy Ghost, has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.”

JOIN THE 2016 PUBLIC SQUARE ROSARY CRUSADE TODAY!
